Hey guys,
I'm trying to justify the $20-25 additional on my payment for advanced cruise control and am curious before I contact my insurance company If anyone in here has realized any direct discounts because the vehicle is so equipped, that would mitigate the extra expense?

That is the only feature my Gladiator didn’t come with and I don’t care to have it. More to go wrong. But some people love it.

You're going to have to ask your insurance company.
Discounts vary by insurance company, and location, and policy type.

Our insurance is always based on the VIN - so when they plug the vin in, and run their numbers, that's what we pay. WE have no idea what options give what discount.
The JT is very expensive compared to my wife's Grand Cherokee, which surprised me but I suppose they figure it's a vehicle that may get abused compared to a WK2 that's going to be mostly on the road and good roads at that.
And yeah, What Kevin said - no one can tell you what to expect as every company is different.
It will depend - we bundle things and have no claims for over a decade and have been with the company since 1982, etc. etc. so even if I shot you a price - there's no way you could do anything based on that.
Ask YOUR insurance company! Too many variables - your LOCATION will matter, too - insurance rates in some states and cities are a whole lot higher than others.

I love the advanced cruise control. It's honestly my favorite creature comfort feature as it just works so well. My wife has had it on her cx-5 and now her Acura MDX and the gladiators works the best of all of them. It drives very natural and keeps appropriate distances based on speeds and such. It's not perfect obviously but i use it basically every drive.

I didn't try to justify the cost. I looked at the convenience and safety features that it offered. I use the ACC almost every trip, and it works very well. Much better than standard cruise control, and great in erratic traffic and construction zones.

Different strokes, eh?

I use cruise a lot and am constantly fiddling with it on the not-exactly-wide-open-spaces of the greater Orlando highway systems.

I'm not happy it can't be selected as a stand alone but I might be able to justify the payment all told.

Spoke with Geico and they only offer discounts for ABS and one other common generic safety feature, but even with that the quote was very reasonable.

I drove a local dealer's diesel w adaptive cruise on the freeway and really liked the adjustability and how responsive it was.

For what it’s worth my insurer told me it came out to about a dollar a feature a month. I wouldn’t pick it anyways because the rentals I’ve had with it felt a little too ready to jump in at the wrong time but it’s up to you and what makes you feel safe.

My old car was a 2019 VW Jetta GLI. It came with all the advanced safety stuff. It all worked very well. The automatic braking was cool. Yet, when I got my gladiator, my insurance actually went down $12 per month. That's despite the fact that my gladiator costs way more, has none of the advanced safety features, and the gladiator would definitely cause more damage I an accident. I actually think the advanced safety features made my insurance higher, because that's the first thing to go in a slight fender bender (at least it was on that car, all the sensors were on the grill).

The feature is cool but the braking and acceleration is too aggressive and can definitely make you nervous. There is nothing gradual about the braking when someone cuts into your space (sometimes feels like the system is going to bring you to a complete stop!!) and the re-acceleration can be aggressive.

It’s good Jeep added the feature but it definitely needs some refinements. Often I will elect to use regular cruise control over the ACC. My reaction, braking and accelerating are certainly better than the on board ACC.

I test drove a gladiator with adaptive cruise and it handled smoothly though no one cut into my lane. From what I gather here not all mfr systems work as well.

So do I. And my wife and I love it on busy interstates around here with the hills and all the truck traffic. In the past I'd watch her hit the brake, go for the gas, then hit resume after a minute or two and do all of that several times in the course of a few miles - or less. I introduced her to the ACC and now she loves it.

I have progressive and when I change for a new vehicle they ask about automatic braking system… not sure what the discount would be, but I’m not in for that kinda technology on my vehicle anyways but I’m sure there’s a bit of a discount for that

They can get all that by simply plugging your new VIN into their computer............ funny anyone asks these days.
