I have 20+ browser windows open of stuff I want for my JT. I'm not even planning on lifting it or anything "extreme" to it, just stuff to make life easier. Floor mats, grab handles, seat jackers, phone mounts, and the list goes on.

This thing is costing me more than my Corvette. :CWL:

Not my first Jeep, I guess I forgot.

My first Jeep and I had the same problem. Started making book marks so I could stop freaking myself out feeling like I’d never achieve it all. Made a short list and will go from there. Planning on overlanding my Mojave so,……………big list!?

Just before I bought it, I told my wife “Dont worry. I’m not planning on doing anything to it.” Because the last truck was a never ending mod fest.

I bought mine just over a week ago and I’m already over $2k in presents for it. :CWL:

Actually, now that I think about it, well over. Worst part is I know I’m not even close to being done…

I recall reading years ago an article that said officially that the Jeep was the most customizable vehicle on the road. This was based on a count of aftermarket parts available for each vehicle they researched. It even beat out Honda Civics and other tuner cars. This was also an article written back in the early days of the JK, so I imagine with Amazon being what is today, that number has most likely exploded.

There are a lot of really quality aftermarket parts out there for all kinds of purposes and driver's wants or needs, and then there are also a lot of just garbage out there. I scroll through some of these online shops or a "Jeep Gladiator" search on Amazon, and I see things I'm like "yeah, I want that", but mostly "WTF, who made this and who buys this?".

My wife calls it a LEGO Truck.

Best advice is do a few things at a time then see what else works for you. For me I drove it for a while then got things I needed to make it better for me (LED Lights, Seat Covers, etc)and now over a year later I am kind of starting to add a few wants here and there (Changed the bumper, added some additional lighting, adding a winch). When I burn up the Rubi Take off's move to 35's and hope that I am finished but somehow I just don't think that will be the case

I have a folder of links in my browser bar. Outside of a potential lift and rails w/ steps, everything left is cosmetic.

I told my wife that after the tires and wheels I was done. She just laughed and walked away. OK now on to winches, the new bumper needs one.

This is my 9th "Wrangler".... The addiction is real. Parts are limitless and the ability for a person to affordably customize a vehicle make the addiction worse. I am constantly looking for new parts.
I have had over 10 trucks and I lifted and customized every one of them. Every Jeep (including cherokees) I have had, I have lifted, bumpers, winches, tops, paint, everything you can imagine.

My wife knows the game. She knows they are never done. I might buy a bumper then sell it and buy a different one. I might buy one with a lift already on it, then buy a new lift. It never ends, she's never surprised anymore. I bought my 78 scout falling apart. Even sold my JL that was lifted and covered in ADD armor, bumpers and lights (ridiculously expensive) to buy the scout.

This addiction is a good one. I don't smoke, drink (too much) or have other expensive hobbies.
If the outcome of my addiction is that you get to ride in the sickest Jeep around.... Then "Hi, my name is Josh and I'm a Jeep addict." "Hi Josh. Welcome to the group." "I guess you can say I was addicted when I bought my 95 Rio Grande YJ when I was 16...."

Oh I did forget one need I have found after driving it for over a year. I need to find someone to put in proximity lock on my driver door so I don't have to mess with the fob anymore. Not in my wheelhouse so will locate someone to get it working. I think the truck should have come with that and some other stuff as standard but oh well

Same. I keep a word doc with all the mods/parts I want complete with prices and hyperlinks. That way I can prioritize and add notes like discounts and price matching. I also have an excel sheet that I then put the parts I buy, the cost, where I got them, etc. It helps slow me down when I am spending too much too fast.

My bank statement just came in the mail today, so good timing on this thread. Most of the $3000 I spent on my current statement was for the Jeep and not one thing more expensive the the Hotheads headliner that I haven't installed yet. So many little things like skid plates that just add up. Before the month is out, I'm looking at rock lighting, tinting front windows to match, and Rubicon steel bumper takeoffs if I can find them. I've put my shooting hobby on hold completely and while that isn't a cheap hobby; it isn't nearly enough to offset how much I've been spending. But at some point I have got to call this thing done. I need to just never again click the "What did you do to your JT today" thread.

Im glad I stripped down my JKU when I traded it in because I was able to sell all of that to get a good start on this. However. I keep finding more and more. My wife hates it. I always tell her its a good deal and that its half the price or on sale but I think she's slowly catching on to my method. I was also able to save my Rocklights from my JKU and started that install last weekend. So far I have found actual good deals on Rubicon take off suspension, Rubicon Fenders and LED turn signals on Facebook. The Rubicon Grille would have been a good deal if the seller would have took the time to package it right so it wouldn't get scratched during shipping. I Still don't see the end of the want list.

I keep a journal of it all too. I’m guessing it’s helpful for insurance as well if anything happens to it
