Honestly, I didn't even put a deposit down for my order. I signed a build order and a price sheet stating how much OTD. I asked if I needed to put a deposit down but the dealer said no.
When I ordered my jeep and they wanted a deposit he said you don't need to put one down but it's more likely to be built faster or with more priority for someone that seems serious about following through with the order by putting money down.

Unless you have signed a contract you aren't obligated to buy. There will just be a Jeep on the lot with your name on the window sticker. I ordered a Wrangler back in 2017 and then changed my mind. Earlier this year I ordered a Sting Gray Gladiator Sport but my dealer got in a Nacho Willys with everything I wanted except Selec-Trac and I bought that one instead.
Good looking build, I think all Gladiators and Wranglers should have the aux switches standard.Ordered 7/17

Oh man, look who has spent some time in HR. Lol. In all seriousness, I totally agree. In my work, communication is vital, but 99% of communication is about timing. And unfortunately in this day and age, everyone thinks they need to know everything about everything.That would be a rookie mistake.
Chaos is the determinant in an otherwise controlled process. It always exists. Therefore, communication as to ground conditions is the only salve to heal critical relationships deformed by the disfunction.
For example, by intentionally limiting communication from the company, more communication occurs among end users, uninformed by company talking points; none of us clients know what company wants, thinks, position, plan. The very definition of "loosing your clientele & appearing incompetent ".
Jeep knows down to the penny and minute what is going to happen with every truck built. To be certain, the email should read "we all know the supply chain disruption effects our product, our relationship with you, and your Jeep build, specifically due to a preventable chip shortage. We delayed the effects for others, and we are working to minimize the effect on you so you can begin to enjoy your Jeep. Because we share your disappointment at our failure to meet our obligation to you, we can only apologize for errors while inviting you to continue with us. If you wish to delete your order thank you, and we will refund all monies paid to us related to the botched order. However, if you wish to wait, all we know for sure is your vehicle will be built after a two week interruption. We will communicate if you opt in using th link below, to a site where your build progress is viewable by you at the same time our professionals can see the progress of your build, complete with a live stream video of your truck we are building together. Thank you for driving Jeep! "

That's a good question. I don't think Daniel has put my info into the system so I doubt Jeep has my email or whatnot. Tomorrow I'm hitting up JC to see what they say.
I ordered from Gupton on July 20th and received my VIN from JC a few days later. I have not received an email as of yet reporting a delay on my build. I would imagine Daniel inputs all the buyers information into the system when ordering for a customer. I had to give him my full name, address, phone number and email address. I ordered a white Mojave with the 8-speed, three piece hardtop, cold weather and tow packages along with the black satin front grill.
Yeah, some of you guys mentioned a Jeep wave program that emails you updates as progress on the build continues, when you get your vin, estimated ship date and so on. Is this true? My dealer gave me the vin and I never recieved an update about anything directly from Jeep.
I have received no other emails from Jeep except the email about the delay. I had to ask my dealer for my VIN.
