I look at this with an open mind if you had not put the OEM wheels back on, I'd have come down on the side of the dealer.

But if you are back to stock wheels and tires and its still terrible, then they owe you a bit of time to troubleshoot.

1) Take the tech for a ride in a new dealer stock Gladiator.
2) take the tech for a ride in your car over the same road.

Point out the difference.

If they refuse to trouble shoot at that point, (you feel a big difference and they don't) then ask them to re-check all the suspension bolts for tightness. (this costs them very little).

If everything is ok and you think the shocks are at issue then bring the shocks to a race shop with a "shock dynamometer" who can actually test the rebound and compression specs of the shock.

Compare that with Fox numbers. If there is a difference you can bring that to the Jeep dealer and use it to push for the shocks to be replaced.

Either way a ride with a Tech is the first step to resolving this. Technicians working on a flat rate system aren't incented to actually troubleshoot. They are incented to change parts.
Had a busy few days and just getting to read and reply. Thanks.., some great suggestions. I don’t know any shops could test the shocks but ill ask around, that is a great idea, dealer is not gonna do that. I think they are too busy and just pushed me off but that’s my feeling. I’m also gonna look into the pressure and doing the chalk thing mentioned. Thing is.., with the pressure at factory, it was fine till that 2k mark and then it went, leads me to think its a shock issue,. Thanks again

The suspension on the Mojave is tuned for the truck as was designed with tires of a specific weight ...

If you add tires that are significantly heavier, it is not necessarily wearing the suspension but it is definitely making it behave outside of the tuned design spec ...

Id be very interested to know what the weight of your upgraded tires and wheels are compared to stock ..

I agree that dealer should fix this if there is truly an issue...I also am puzzled by a lot of the comments here....obviously with the aftermarket tire/wheel setup all bets are off but you clearly put back stock wheels/tires. So now we have an almost brand new stock Mojave that rides badly. I also don't understand the 28psi comment, that is likely way too low for stock wheels/tires......maybe I am just used to a firmer ride but I think they ride perfectly fine at 37psi stock on rubicon's and Mojave's (I've driven both). maybe with bigger/heavier walled tires you can go lower but stock should be fine

After I added a camper to my Mojave I had a similar experience as you, a kind of hopping going over certain highway sections. I determined my coils were too soft for the topper so I installed bags which did not help much. I then lifted it and went with stiffer coils, while keeping the bags. It is pretty much back to normal now. Hopefully I do not go through this again when I go to 35s.

If you have gone back to OEM wheels and tires and it is still doing it, then you need to find a new dealership and /or contact Jeep Cares.

As a Mojave owner, who is research Canopy / Campers, I am curious as to what all you did with the suspension. My initial thought was just to replace the rear springs with some that were slightly stiffer. Curious as to the steps you did to get things working.

Apologies to the OP for the thread hijack, @Mtpisgah if you have another thread on this I'll go there and delete this post. Thanks!

Old test for shocks was to push down on the quarter panels and see it it Oscillates up and down or if the movement is slowed/stoped quickly by the shock absorbers.
silly maybe but stand in the bed and bounce the truck up and down.
do you think you can narrow it down to front or rear shocks? It would be odd if all 4 are bad already

This is a great next step.

What is the air pressure in your tires?
Bring your tire pressure gauge when you meet the local guy and put your gauge on his tire and see what he is running for pressure.

Don't take his word for it. Consumer level gauges can be off by 5 psi. So you could see a variance of 10 psi between gauges.

If his rides better and shows 35 psi, then set yours to the same and see how it goes.
I’m gonna lower the pressure a good bit, maybe like 33 cold for the summer heat. Seems like when they are cold and lower pressure the ride is def better, less bounce. Once they heat up to read like 37 on the dash, the bounce comes. I’m obviously no tire expert.., the Klever in this size for 20” rims is F rated…, vs E most. I assume that would make a harsher ride (slightly) but could that also be a bouncier ride. Again, I know this isn’t a Caddy, just weird how the ride was fine for me the first 2k miles and all of a sudden it went to shit. Thanks for the reply and info.

I did not…, the dealer said they visually inspected everything but who knows.., they are short staffed and prob just pushed it off. I’ll take a close look.., thanks!

I have switched back and forth and def does it stock and the 35’s. I’m playing a bit with the pressure. The tire is also an F rated vs most that are E rated, not sure if that could add to the bounce in the hot temps. I’m trying to reach out to Kenda for their thoughts on the proper pressure . See what happens. Thanks for the reply and thoughts.

I know that test…, actually had an Audi SQ5 that i hit a weird transition with, swore a shock blew. 5 trips to the dealer and every time they said.., “its perfectly fine”…., last time it dawned on me to ask about that and the tech did it and BAM, reached in and found fluid…, blown shock . This beast is not easy to do that on as we know. I have “shaken” it and did the same with a friends Mojave…, looks like it could be a little off but hard for me to tell.., not an expert obviously. I’m super busy with work so chasing this is a PITA I don’t have a lot of time for I appreciate all the responses.., its why I love these forums…, lots of info and ideas. Thank you

If one shock went bad you probably would not notice it. It seems very unlikely that you would have multiple shock go bad at once and those shock will take more abuse than any other shock on jeeps. Most failures are from overheating off road or just a bad seal.

An F rated tire sounds way to HD to put on a 5000lb Gladiator. The factory are C and the door sticker suggest the pressure you put in them. To go up to an F you must significantly reduce the tire pressure IMO.

Did you find your problem? I have a Rubi with 49k on it and I have some bounce now. I have a bed rack and 35s. My tires are balanced and I’ve rotated them to isolate front vs rear and the rear seems to me that it’s under-damped.

I did the AEV spacer lift but I wonder if I should swap out the rear coils/spacers for stiffer springs or go down the road of new shocks. If I wanted to spend $1,500 + on a complete lift I would have done that so spending wisely is a priority to me.
