WXman traded his Ram EcoDiesel for a Gladiator EcoDiesel. The good news is that he'll have a Quaker State sample for us by the end of September.

I have attached my factory fill and Pennzoil Platinum UOA. The Pennzoil is mostly towing miles. And just to clarify, this is for a Ram EcoDiesel, but it will give you a reference point.

I'm running Quaker State 5W40 as we speak and when I change the oil and filter again I'll be sending the sample off for analysis again.

I'm also currently waiting on a sample that I sent to them 3 weeks ago. Have no idea why that's taking so long these days.

Well so much for their search engine. You'll see at the top left of the screen print that my vehicle was listed as 2021 Gladiator 3.0 turbo diesel. It was one of two filters that came up.

Jiffy Lube says they have the oil but cannot get the filter.

Valvoline Express Lube says they don't have the filter or the required oil.

I called several other national accounts like Firestone, Midas, Pep Boys, etc None of them had the required oil. I'm guessing they don't buy anything but bulk and don't have enough requests for the oil we need.

Looks like we can buy oil at Walmart but the filter is a dealer only buy.

I think Walmart stopped selling Quaker State 5W-40 Euro, which was the only oil with the MS-12991 spec that Walmart would stock in stores.

What about shipped to home from Walmart? The narrow spec oils can be hit or miss depending on location of the Walmart in question. Found the ship to home option with free shipping for $35+ from Walmart to be a pretty good work around when I am looking for a narrow spec oil.

I run Rotella T6 in my 2015 EcoDiesel and Pennzoil in my 2020 EcoDiesel. I get Rotella at Tractor Supply when it's on sale. I got the Pennzoil on Amazon shipped to by door for $7.21 per quart.

2 weeks ago, Walmart had 6 Quaker available instock for ship to home. I bought all 6.

I noticed today while at Green Diesel Engineering that they are running Rotella T6 in their Gen 3 EcoDiesels that they use for validation and testing.

Curious to hear their comments on that if you talk to them. Seems like everyone outside these walls loves t6 myself included but Mopar says no go.

I don't want to put words in their mouths, but in talking with them about it they basically don't know why the spec would have changed and they don't believe that the excuse about deposits left inside the turbo housing is valid. They'd rather use a CK rated oil because it handles soot better.
