Love that it’s smaller and more nimble than the Ram 2500 I traded for it.
Love that it gets better mileage than my Ram even lifted with 35s.

Hate that the center console USB doesn’t work for Apple CarPlay and the dash USB is in a terrible spot. Who thought that right in front of the shifter with a flip-up door was a good idea
Hate that it’s underpowered. I was spoiled with my 6.4 Ram. A 5.7 option would have been fantastic
It's a small mid-sized truck - it's not a Ram, it's not full-sized.
That's what baffles me - people come from a full-sized truck and then wonder why it's not a V8 and not bigger here or there, etc.
I've never had a problem with the USB locations - try a Grand Cherokee with a wide door way down low that you have to flip up and then reach back in deep to make the connection.
There's always something better, always something worse.

Seems to me there are people using the center console USB for Apple devices.........

Feeling every ounce of your pain. I too traded my Ram 2500 and am missing the interior cab space and extras but I wanted something kinder on my rough roads around town and my JTM is delightful and dreamy to drive. I only had the 5.7 so I was used to being slightly under powered.

There will always be things you miss about your previous vehicles they all have their “The good the bad and the ugly” I appreciate that the OP gave us the thread to discuss these very things.

My last TWO trucks had trailer tow mode. I do miss that. I understand it's supposed to "Detect" and adapt - but it doesn't under all conditions and the 3 blink turn signals is against what all other trucks do in towing mode - everyone other truck I've had or driven with tow mode switch changed it to 5. It takes, or SHOULD TAKE longer to change lanes and people need a bit more notice.

Who has a push button to open the door?
It locks the door. When your finger wrap around the back it up locks. It’s just natural to grab the handle and that unlocks the door but I also grab the handle to push the button to lock it ??‍♂

They normally only break on unmaintained doors.
I've never had one break on a car in normal circumstances. On this car, the originals lasted over 193,000 miles. I only put these in because they were black.

If the doors don't open and close easily, if things get sticky or the doors out of adjustment or things freeze and people keep pulling on the handle, they'll break it - but that's more abuse and not normal use.
If the pivot pins (the large roll pin inside) wears or the holes wear, then the paddle will start to tip. If the latch gets sticky then you have to pull the paddle farther than normal, stressing it.
I've found in almost all cases - the breaks were due to other things being "off" or wrong.
Those on my 73 have 100,000 miles, my Eagle - over 193,000, my 68 - 120,000 miles, my son's SX4 - over 100,000 miles............

Keep the hinges, latches, strikers and so on maintained and adjusted, these will go for decades.

This was upstate New York winters my dads hornet broke 2 same on our Eagle. I don’t think my grandfather had any issues though he kept his garaged. They would snap right in half. Probably frozen. It’s been years, 25 plus. I blew the engine in it. My dad took that mistake to his grave. I don’t think he ever forgave me HAHAHAHA. I’m sure he did but it was just a family joke. He was pretty bitter for a long time. I took my road test in that thing. It was unstoppable in the snow. Such a great car. My grandfather liked it so much he got one for himself after my dad got his. I believe my grandfathers was a select track. Ours was full time 4x4.
it would get this awful thump in the driveline once you got to 65-79 mph. They could never pinpoint the issue.
I would buy one again in a heart beat.

I've pegged the speedometer in my SX4 - and even in my 84 Wagon (pregnant wife in labor, second child - coming fast!) I figured if the IHP stopped me, they'd take one look at her - or she'd give them "the look" and scream, and we'd get an escort the rest of the way.
If the doors stick at all on these, you unstick or unfreeze - pulling harder to try to force it open almost guarantees a break. And if the finish gets damaged or worn away, the zinc in the handle will rot away.

Not all of us have proximity every. Although it is easy to add aftermarket.
Corvettes do. They've actually killed people when the battery died and they didn't know about the manual release.
Yes, and other vehicles do too, but he was posting in a Gladiator forum about having to push a button to open the door.

We didn’t have YouTube back then just pick a part and red neck engineering. Hahahaa I miss that car and my Dad. There was a guy I went to school with how drove them. He had an eagle and an sx4 on like 35’s. Don’t know how he did it but it was pretty cool for 1995.

I like just about everything about my truck except that it shuts off and on on its own at traffic lights unless I push a little button.
They got a flash for that.

1. Jeep customer support it is as bad if not worse than AT&T - which is bad. #JeepCustomerService
2. I am not a fan of how my Gladiator looks with the lids off and doors on. Out and out ugly. Gotta have the half doors or something similar, or go with no doors. I'm good with no doors but others riding in my rig get a little antsy with no doors - even with the seatbelt.
3. The latch that catches the back doors. It is an elbow/triceps eater.
4. Windshield - this is my forth Jeep. CJ x 2, JK, JT. Other than my teenage years in the CJ acting crazy, I have never had as many chips in my windshield as I do after 5 months with my Gladiator. they had to have done something to the compound they use for making the windshields, the frame or the installation - I do not know, but the number of cracks and the number of people I have seen with this issue, it is not random.
Even then - The Gladiator climbs like a monkey and rides like a Lincoln. This is a relationship, not ownership, I love my Gladiator.
