I put Nitto EXO Grapplers on my Mojovie 35 12.5 R17, It has changed the speedo, going 10 kms faster then what it shows me. My question is should I get it calibrated ? Will it cause any damage to the rear end or transmission?

JSCAN, AlfaOBD, Tazer, or a dealer will often do it (if they are customer oriented like the one I've been using)
My local accessories guy said "we can do it, or you can buy a device and do it yourself as well as many other things"

I bought OBDLink MX+ blue tooth adapter, the bypass cable and software and now do most of my own settings and programming options, tire sizes, etc.

No, it won't cause damage.

Shadow Papa, Can you change gearing from 4:10 to 4:88's with the OBDLink MX+? I am having a heck of a time with my taser and the non existent customer service from them is making me look for another solution. I need to correct tire size, TPMS and gears. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

You can do this easily with Tazer...what is the issue? Everytime I have contacted them with questions via text I have waited no more than 10 minutes for an answer

I’ve got an AEV snap tool that’ll calibrate it for you for sale in the marketplace. Didn’t need it and it’s brand new. Would send it to you for far less than they want retail.

Purchased an AEV Snap from marketplace on the forums. Works great, can do everything you need and no concerns with it bricking your ECM

The change in tire size won't cause damage but will start feeding the computer data that doesn't jive. reprograming for the correct tire size will help smooth out shift points so it wants to work like normal and will get the odometer back in line.

Owning your own tool is very helpful as your tires wear or you change them out for new and slightly different sizes. I measure my tires installed height (effective radius) once I see the speedo drift from GPS by a noticeable amount. Buying the tool once is worth it if you need to change something again in the future although I bought mine specifically for the high idle function to winch with.

I originally had it installed at a local (highly recommended)off road/Jeep shop. When I left the shop the ESS light came on and said it was inoperable. I found an email address for Taser and they responded within 24 hours and said to take it out, reset and start over. I not only took it out I brought it in, did a current software upgrade and then followed the entire process as outlined. At that point my ESS light went away but now my headlights and bed lights are on all the time and because the head lights are on I have no dash lights during the day. I guess I am old I dont want to email and text a company I purchased a product from. I want a live body that can give me some advice. At this point I have uninstalled, rebooted and still have the light issue. Net/Net if I have to buy another product from a company that will provide the level of support I need I am willing to do so. Thus the reason I asked the question about OBDLink

I prefer the OBDLink MX+ and the jscan or AlfaOBD software because not only can you make changes to settings (tire size, etc.) but they can aid in diagnosis.
Since I had no intention of changing things that only a tazer can handle (because it sits there at all times and tells the ESS to turn off, etc.) I won't ever need it.
People like it because it sits there and tells the system to do things there are no settings for.
I prefer only to make changes where there are settings choices - plus use the software for troubleshooting and logging and errors, misfires and so on.

But for what I use these things for - diagnosing trouble codes, resetting MIL (CEL to some) and that sort of thing - it takes software (for logging, diagnosing, etc.) and the OBDLink adapter (with bypass cable) to do it.
I diagnosed my 2004 WJ check engine light (O2 sensor heater circuit), our 2021 Grand Cherokee engine misfire using the OBDLink MX+ and the software.
Frankly, I don't care about any of the tazer functions. And I don't like the need to unmarry and so on. Not for me, not needed, don't care.

I am looking at the OBDLink MX+ right now. Do I need a bypass cable or is it wireless? It looks to come with an app of some sort. Do I still need jscan or AlfaOBD?

You need the security bypass cable regardless of the app or OBD adapter you use IF you wish to make changes to any settings. Otherwise, there's a "firewall" in there that prevents system changes. The cable bypasses that while you change any settings such as tire size, add passive entry, etc.
You need an application to take the readings and make the changes (such as tire size, etc.)

Either jscan or AlfaOBD. I started with jscan - good simple app, easy to use, but found it limiting for my needs, especially early on as some things weren't available in jscan. The other catch for me personally was that jscan is licensed per VIN. So it's free to check out and look over, but if you need to make any changes or really do anything, you buy a license for the vin of your vehicle.
I wanted to use it on my wife's Jeep - but since it was licensed for my Gladiator, I could not.

So I bought AlfaOBD. It's a lot more inclusive on what it can do and once you have bought it, you can use it on unlimited FCA vehicles including Ram trucks, Jeeps, Fiat and more. I used it on my WJ when I had it (but that was pre-FCA so the options were indeed limited), my wife's WK2 and my JT.
I also have it installed on 2 devices - my phone and my LG tablet.

I find jscan is really simple and fast to use for things like changing tire sizes - so if the license/VIN isn't a problem for you, it's a great little app. There are some things it doesn't do at this point but I suspect most people won't run into that limit. To use on one vehicle it's the cheaper way to go and is easier to use. I believe he provides free updates for life - easy enough to check in the jscan web site.

AlfaOBD is more robust, but with that come some complexity.
It's not limited per vehicle and can be installed on any Android device you own. If you have 5 FCA vehicles, it can be used on any of them with no added license to buy. IF you trade Gladiators, no problem. Free updates for life as I recall.

The OBDLink MX+ is more expensive but even jscan says to do or access certain things, it's the adapter you need. It's faster - which is required for writing certain changes to the systems of these vehicles. The lesser ones work - but have limitations. Like my wife says when I go cheap on stuff "you know you will regret it" and she's always right.

Any of them will be bluetooth to connect to your phone or tablet with the jscan or AlfaOBD app - or in some cases, you can get wifi models.
I wish I had gone the wifi route but that's because I already have several things using Bluetooth on my phone and it just gets really really messy.
For most folks, BT is the standard and is the way to go.
