The 315 is available in C and E load rating, while the 35 is only available in E. The 315 is just ever so slightly smaller than the 35 (34.4" vs. 35.5"). If I recall, both are 12" wide. I looked these up getting a tire quote for a friend about an hour ago...

S0 going with E the 35/12.50/17 would be the way to go.

It depends. The specs on the C tire should be sufficient in most cases. If they meet your load needs, they should ride better than the E tire. The E tire is also heavier.

I tow a trailer 3,500Lbs, not sure that makes a difference.

The 315s will sit you about half an inch closer to the ground. Widths are about the same.

I've run both sizes and they are identical. In fact I don't even know why they make both.

Keep an eye on tread depth and overall construction, sometimes the flotation and metric sizes differ there, but overall they're the same size.

For the K02 specifically, they list it at 1/10" taller for the 35x12.50 but wider for the 315/70 (12" on a 9.5" wheel, whereas the 35x12.50 is 12" on a 10 inch wheel). In reality, they're identical.

Don’t drive in mud with either of those, or wet grass on a hill for that matter.

Between those 2 i'd go BFG KO2 for sure as long as its the 3 Peak rated BFG KO2. The falkens are rediculously heavy at 73+ pounds for a 35.

You should also consider the general grabber ATX. Weight for an e rated 35 is 65 pounds, its a true 35, has the ability to be studded if you absolutely need it and is a great tire. Its basically a better, truer to size KO2.

Between those two, Falken six days a week and twice on Sunday. Better wear, better traction, less noise, and arguably better sidewalls (which is why Falkens are heavy). The KO2 sucks in snow, sucks in mud, and wears poorly if you don't have a perfect alignment.
