THIS is why I bought a Mojave! Wheelin' on NC beaches. IN 4-wheel high it handled fine. With Off Road Plus it was great! With the Rear Lockers on - UNSTOPPABLE!!

Where can I get on the beach with my Mojave in NC? I was just there from TX, I was in Jacksonville. My daughter and son in law live there and I would love to drive down the beach. Here in south Texas it’s hard to find a beach that’s not open to vehicles. Thanks

When driving through pretty heavy ruts - I am talking like 18" deep by 2' long ruts in the desert very closely spaced - are you guys hitting your jounce bumpers up front with that "clunk" sound? Doesn't jar or shake the vehicle - but the sound is a little unsettling. Not getting this creeping over these ruts - just with a little "speed" but nothing crazy. I am assuming this is normal.

That’s pretty normal, especially if you’re hitting them at speed. It’s just the hydraulic bump stops doing their thing! If you weren’t in a Mojave you’d hear a much less pleasant sound.

Thanks for the reply! I can deal if it's normal! Just didn't want to tear up the truck! :)

Off road plus is hilarious. I love how long it holds current gear on throttle release. Everything is super responsive.

My favorite places to drive on the NC beaches are from Corolla up to the Virginia border (Corova Beach) and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Hatteras has miles and miles of beaches on which to drive. The last few days we were down at the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area just south of Wilmington. It's only about 6 miles long but fun nonetheless.

Thanks for this info. So are you driving at speed or just the 5-10 mph limit FL has on their beaches? Thanks

Thanks for your input. Looking forward to exploring NC beaches with The White Rabbit

I'm jumping in with both feet. :like:

Picked up my Mojave a little over two months ago and started collecting parts soon afterwards.

I drove ~85 miles north this morning to pick up a set of tires I ordered and will be putting them and other goodies on soon.

Drive it, love it, learn what you love the most so it doesn’t get lost in mods. I’m still learning after 7 months

Haha - will do. :)

I also have a '91 YJ on 1 ton axles & 39's that I've had and been building for ~26 years. Fun stuff.

Posted in a few other threads. But picked her up yesterday. Took a bit getting used to the steering coming from only owning IFS trucks, but already used to it and LOVING the truck.

Side note….I’m a complete idiot. I thought I had remote start added to my order, and I didn’t. I skipped the cold weather package as I don’t really need it in the south, and I for SURE thought it was included in one of the other packages I had added. Nope. Forgot and didn’t catch it when I sent my order to Gupton, when he sent the order confirmation back, when I got my window sticker, or even in the first 24 hours of ownership. I only realized when I looked down at my key and realized there was only a lock, unlock, and alarm buttons. Dammit.
What are your wheels? Love the look. My Mojave is still in line to be made. But when it gets here I’m thinking those wheels would look very nice on it. Very nice indeed.
