Yeah, we've known it for quite a while. There are two dates on the door sticker, one is year/month, and the other gives the detail down to the hour.

I have to laugh at all the stuff on YT - like that's some big secret! Maybe that guy is amazed........ not this guy. I can tell you the build dates on a lot of components, such as deciphering the date code on Motorola auto equipment, Prestolite parts and other stuff.

Sorry, still laughing "hidden secret" - I bet that clip is monetized...........

Paint runs are ok as long as not visible with the doors closed. Only very high end or luxury vehicles will never have one anywhere. (although honestly I've not found one yet on a Grand Cherokee - I have found them on my other trucks over the years)

And ya think this is unique to FCA? LOL - read the complaints out there about other makes. Chevy, Ford, all sorts of complaints, recalls, paint peeling off frames in sheets, STEERING issues, power steering failing (sound familiar, folks??) seat belt issues (Exactly like Gladiator), recall for driveshaft separation on Silverado, recall of 1 million vehicles by Mercedes - sun roof flies off vehicles at highway speeds........
One model Toyota has a complaint of the front fender popping completely off the car on a bump.
Naw, this isn't FCA, it's everyone. They all have their problems. (but not shockingly, some have fewer issues - since the killer Toyota fiasco and their poor quality issues of the past, they've stepped it up big-time)

After a few months, he ran out of new material to post and basically his channel went dormant with a channel name change to his actual name. Recently, he took possession of a 4XE and started all over again having new material for that model.

He does not seem to mod much if anything at all so he will probably peter out once he runs out of 4XE content to comment about.

The crazy thing is that with a forum like this - there are truly few secrets about anything Jeep. Oh, not that there's nothing to still discover, but with thousands of people discussing everything from how they dislike some design to real-world issues like failing steering, and so many here who have actually read documents like warranties and owner manuals, if it's on Jeep, it's likely in here. Heck, we have a guy who has tuned these to the 100th decimal place of perfection, a guy who works in a Jeep dealership shop. The collective knowledge here is sort of like the Borg - the best of all worlds. (*and at times, the worst hahaha)

I guess the point - someone here knows.

But in general - seriously? That sort of information has been on vehicles for YEARS! I guess the guy ran out of content and was bored.
Look on the mounting flange of a fender - likely a code showing the date it was made. Same for quarter panels - there's a date code on them. Driveshafts of the 60s and 70s had 3 paint stripes on them of varied color combinations sort of like resistors - it told the transmission it went behind and other information. Castings often had such codes, the date of build and even the engine size it went behind is stamped on the pan flange of older MOPAR automatic transmissions.
Motorola automotive components of the past had codes like 185 043 indicating the class of the item and that it was made in the 43rd week of 1970 (there was a serial number that would have given greater detail), Ford starters of the past - date code, division and if it was used by Ford on Ford vehicles or made for another auto maker. There were body sequence numbers and other information that told the plant, the line, and other information.

Not everybody who owns a JT is on this forum and the same for YT. He never claims he is reinventing the wheel of being first to post information.

His channel is actually a good newbie primer for someone new to the JL platform and Jeeps in general. None of his content is advanced and appeals to the 3-10 minute attention span crowd that searches YT for some quick basic info.

In fact only a small fraction of owners are on any forum or FB page............
So you are saying his stuff is for brand new Jeep owners? (possibly brand new car owners, or people who never realized that car makers have been doing that for decades - like my wife)

He is the stand up in the kiddie pool with water wings on for new owners too lazy to break open and reads the owners manual or "quick start" guide.
