I have been under the assumption that you can not order the 4.10's in the 3.0. I have watched a couple of YouTube videos of someone stating that they ordered their Rubicon with 4.10 from the factory. His is the diesel. So is it correct that you can NOT order them in the diesel?

If someone wants to sell me their 4.10 take offs, I would appreciate it!

I think....if you order a diesel you do not get 4.10's unless it is a Rubicon then it comes with them. Try building one online and see what it gives you for gears.

None of the diesels come with anything other than 3.73s unless that changed recently. I wasn’t allowed to change to 4.10s when I ordered mine and it’s a Rubicon

All diesel models comes with 3.73s from the factory.

Rubicon and Max Tow gas models come with 4.10's from the factory.

The vide you are referencing has some misinformation in it.

FWIW, my 3.0L ecodeisel JT on 37's runs awesome with 3.73's and 4LO is super effective, almost unusable for anything but the most controlled and technical climbs and assents. Anyone who tells you otherwise hasn't driven one quite yet.

Well that seems to confirm what I thought that you could not get 4.10's in the diesel. Not sure why he is saying that he ordered them factory. Seems like putting out bad info especially being on YouTube.

I picked up some new takes off 4.10 gear set.

For those who have done it. Do you recommend the master install kit or the mini kit would do? Mine truck has 7k miles.

NO-- diesel, no matter what trim is ONLY 3.73... if someone has 4.10s on a diesel, it was done after the fact...

mare you installing yourself or having installed? A few specialty tools needed for this
If paying to install, not sure it’s worth it only going to 4.10’s from 3.73’s

aevgladiatorrubi, is correct.
If you choose diesel in the Rubicon it changes the gears to 3.73. I guess that makes sense as now you have torque with the engine and you don't have to create it with gears.

Remember that 4.10 gears aren't really ideal for a diesel. Its redline is 4500 RPM. Significantly lower than the gas engine. With stock wheels and tires you aren't going to be in the sweet spot with 4.10 gears.
Diesels like to turn slow.
