there is no max tow option for the dieselAlthough the 3.73 is listed, I was told by the dealer that the max tow option kept the 4.10 gearing.

The Max Tow option does have 4.10 gearing, but also requires a gas engine and is not available on a Rubicon.Although the 3.73 is listed, I was told by the dealer that the max tow option kept the 4.10 gearing.
It's easy to figure out what gears you have. Check your tire size, then pick a speed in any gear and see what rpms you're running. We know the gearing of the transmission, and since these are fixed ratios, it's easy to calculate. But pretty sure you have 3.73s. Dealers will say anything to sell something.Although the 3.73 is listed, I was told by the dealer that the max tow option kept the 4.10 gearing.
I can confirm that I chose basically every option when building my diesel and it comes with 3.73 gears. The diesel does not come with 4.10 from the factory.Although the 3.73 is listed, I was told by the dealer that the max tow option kept the 4.10 gearing.
Yep....open the hood and verify it has the Ecodiesel..........He has 3.73's! ?It's easy to figure out what gears you have. Sounds like another clueless dealer since:Although the 3.73 is listed, I was told by the dealer that the max tow option kept the 4.10 gearing.
Sales people are often very misinformed. Always do your own researchAlthough the 3.73 is listed, I was told by the dealer that the max tow option kept the 4.10 gearing.
Now show the right side where the diesel option is listed.....Here is a pic of the window sticker from my 2021 Gladiator EcoDiesel Rubicon

Yes. The 3.45s from the JL would be a much better fit with the EcoDiesel. The power band is very narrow and peak torque is at 1,600ish RPM. Need to keep the tach needle low on the dial.Remember that 4.10 gears aren't really ideal for a diesel. Its redline is 4500 RPM. Significantly lower than the gas engine. With stock wheels and tires you aren't going to be in the sweet spot with 4.10 gears.
Diesels like to turn slow.
The good news is that the EcoD torque tends to work-around the stress of gearing. Good luck.If anyone is wondering, I swapped to a set of Nitro 4.10 when I installed my ARB Air Lockers and 37's, in my opinion, the gear ratio is just about perfect, even with how heavy I am. Per the calculator I found online, I should be just about the rpm range as a factory stock diesel Rubicon.

And even with the camper, I am back at around 23 mpg highway (65 cruising speed). This is great to hear, as I'm planning to tackle some 4.10 this weekend too. I really missed the takes off torque with my 37's.
