I'm not equating it to the need for a garage, but the whole street will need to be lined up with chargers, in areas where the street is barely wide enough for a sidewalk, and where there is no shoulder on the road. There are no stalls, or even parking spots. People just park on the side of the road. These roads were designed way before anyone thought of a need for parking a car. In fact, the only reason my house is one of the lucky few to have a garage or driveway is because my garage used to be the carriage house, where they parked horses and buggies. There are no spaces, no parking lots, and no room to build things. In real cities with wide roads and even with marked parking spaces, it's less of a problem. In places with parking lots, it's less of a problem. But here, everyone without a driveway or a garage (most people) park on side of the street and hope they don't come out and find their ride sideswiped.Seems people are equating charging to the need for a garage at their residence.
Here in the “Great White North” most apartments, condos without garages have parking stalls with plug ins for the block heaters.
With some mods, they could be EV charging capable.
The biggest issue for that is the current electrical infrastructure could not handle the demand.

This would help.?
I don't want to sound anti-EV, because I'm not, but the future will likely be one where everyone charges when not in use rather than going to the station for a quick fill up. So making that available to this population will be an important step. These also will be the folks most apprehensive to making the change.
