Other than the bracket/tab that ripped out, is there anything left in your front end (other than the axle) that is JeeP?
Guess not....Not being a mechanic I tried to make all parts as strong as possible to avoid breakage problems...Maybe I should have replaced the frame...Is that the point of your comment? Guess I Never dreamed the frame would break from slipping or fishtailing on ice.....Live and learn...

Maybe that rear sway bar is too stiff and not needed........ could be it helped it fishtail.
Like I said - a stiffer rear bar decreases rear traction.
I haven't seen a reason for the stiffer rear sway bar here.

Could be...Like I said...I'm no mechanic...I installed the Helwig after the Expert/experienced guy on the forum from Canada who build the first "parted" Mojave lift (can't remember his name or shop name) raved about how much better the Mojave drove after adding the Helwig sway bar... I tend to rely on experts guys like that, KurtP and you ShadowsPapa for advice and guidance on mods that are worthwhile. So I can't say for sure if it was necessary or not...

I would take this to your local metal shop. Have them weld a little extra support after repairing the broken bracket. Much better welds and stronger than what the factory would do and cheaper. Plus, giving a local business some extra cash. It won't cost $800 either.
I have looked at that bracket, when changing sway bar links. Looks very weak. Also, concern of stripping the welded in nut on the tab. If you have it fixed at a weld shop he should do both sides while there.

Hahaha......Nice bike KX L.....Just sold my 2014 Street Glide....May try a Road Glide next summer...After having all the creature comforts on the touring bike the old Softail just doesn't cut it anymore at my age ....LOL
That was my '11 Street Glide, a couple of bikes ago. Now I've got a 2017 CVO SG with the dual cool. Fantastic bike that has sat in the garage for 18 months---occasionally one of my buddies will take it out for a spin---but like every other mechanical thing, if it isn't ridden regularly you can expect issues once you get back to regularly using it again. Hopefully the stuff that fails I can fix myself.

Just cancel that sway bar completely and go with the Teraflex upgraded sway bar system. Skip the dealer and stock mounts if you would like :) Sorry if this has already been mentioned.... I just skipped from the 1st page to here........

I had the tab that holds the rear sway bar link literally tear (see attached pictures). No off roading or any other broken parts or damage. I think it may have happened when I fishtailed for a second on a patch of ice. Nothing else out of the ordinary has happened so I would assume that was the cause. I took it in to the dealer and they blamed the fact that there was an aftermarket sway Helwig bar installed(dealer installed the sway bar). They are refusing to fix it under warranty and blaming the sway bar as the cause, which amazes me. ANd they want $800 to weld it back together. I'm of the opinion that "FORCE" caused the metal to rip/tear not a better/stronger swaybar from Helwig. Naturally the "weakest link" in the chain is going to break under force. Which in this case is the Jeep sway bar bracket on the frame...

See the pictures and I'd love to have your opinions on this. I tried involving JeepCares, called and through this form and all I get is the phone number for a different dealer who have all been trained to blame any aftermarket part when remotely possible....I'd like a quilified engineer to comment on this if anyone out there is a PE.

What do you guys think???

This has happened twice in my local Gladiator group. All while offroading, all with stock links, and all on lifted trucks.

It's imperative that the links be the proper (longer) length when using shocks which are longer than stock. I suspect this is what causes the majority of the issues we have seen.

Ok I'm not mechanical at all but am I missing something here...Several people have mentioned "stock" sway bar link in this post like if I would have changed them this would not have happened. I'm totally confused because the AEV Mojave kit lift came with front & rear sway bar end length therefore in my mind I'm not running "stock" links....I'm running the end links that came with the AEV kit that are masde for a 2" lifted vehicle.... Am I confusing my parts or terminology and people who are mentioning "stock" links are talking about a different part???

https://www.aev-conversions.com/product/mojave-spacer-lift/

Can one of you knowledgeable guys clear this up for me please? Thanks guys !!

You are right then, those should be extended links.

My point was, I have never seen anyone report that they broke the mount with a stock Gladiator.

We all are adding additional forces and stress to our rigs with lifts and big tires.

I'd recommend disconnecting the rear sway bar links while off-roading.

OK....Just so I understand correctly and don't go and buy different links...I "do": have the proper links that many people have refered to as the casue? I'm good to go ??
