Car and Driver confirmed those numbers are the EU version and the US is supposed to get the 392hp / 430lbs version.

For the "c'mon Jeep!" message - isn't that what the Gladiator Rubicon 392 is for??

(don't think it's a coincidence that Ford is rating the Ranger Raptor at "392hp" by the way...)
Nothing in that article confirms power numbers beyond “shares the same drivetrain with the bronco raptor” which does not mean it will be rated for the same power figures. Most manufactures share engines and transmissions and simply tune them for the application.

Ford has a press release out stating power figures.

Well a base ranger gets 270 hp in the us now. One would think the twin turbo v6 would be well north of 300
The 3.0 was massively detuned in this, 288 hp, 360 torque or so, not exactly huge numbers honestly.

Hopefully the jeep 3.0 puts out better numbers, although maybe it's better if it doesn't so I don't trade mine in.

Those ratings are in EEC
"In the U.S. we use the English system of units for things like length, volume, and horsepower. Think foot, cubic inch, etc. In Europe it's the metric system—centimeter and liter. The English unit for power is horsepower, or hp. The metric equivalent to horsepower is PS (for Pferdestärke, which is German for "horsepower"). Because we define units differently, one PS does not equal one hp. One hp describes about 1.4 percent more power than one PS (PS x 0.9863 = hp)."- Car and Driver

288 x 1.4 = 403.2

You converted it wrong, 288ps is whats listed, thats 284 hp and the 491NM converts to 360lbft of torque

Edit: This article claims 392 which seems more realistic as 284hp out of a turbo'd 3.0 is anemic

I think jeep realizes theirs no real benefit for faster engines for an off road vehicle. Just sit back and let these clowns drive around in these things.
I don't think you're wrong per se, but there's clearly money to be made on platforms like the Raptor and TRX. I mean just look at the Wrangler 392...Jeep is selling every one they build!

I like it since the Ranger was on my short list (along with the Gladiator and Colorado)

The question is when will customers actually see them. Around here, just getting a regular Ranger (XLT or Lariat trims) is even hard to come by. Feels like you could be waiting years for delivery just like those Broncos.

Those figures are incorrect. The ratio is 1.04 not 1.4.

not to mention you are supposed to multiply PS by 0.986 not by 1.4. This results in 288 x 0.986 = 284

I clearly won't make a living as a mathemagician. That said, the published predicted horsepower ratings for the upcoming US model are around 400.

Who wants that? I'm happy with my Gladiator... I don't plan on blasting across a desert.
I want “that.” I have been waiting for the Ranger Raptor to come to the states for years. Stopped by a dealer in Australia and checked out the previous generation. I DO plan on blasting across the desert!!
