The AEV lift you have, are you running the Bilstein shocks / the full kit? I have the Mopar 2" lift. Just not sure if I should change the whole setup or if I should go with some Clayton springs and either Fox2.5 shocks or Falcon adjustable shocks.

While I'm not sure of the exact numbers for the max tow springs, I can say that the springs found in our kits do have a higher spring rate. I don't think you would run into any issues with payload capacity, as we have some guys running 500+ pounds in the rear with some of these kits. If you're planning on running a lot more weight than that, than you might want to consider combining a 1/2" spacer with a set of our springs to get your rake to where you want it to be, but obviously those are extreme situations. I'll include a picture of our friends truck from GP Factor, who run our 2.5" Overland Plus kit carrying a ton of overlanding gear in the rear and sitting level.

I have the Mopar 2" lift. Just not sure if I should change the whole setup or if I should go with some of the Overland Clayton springs and either Fox2.5 shocks or Falcon adjustable shocks. I don't wheel a lot, don't plan to hardcore wheel with this rig. I just want to smooth out the little bit of bounce I now feel with the Alu-Cab

I am running the full kit. I would recommend the Clayton 3.5" rear spring set. I CAT scaled before and after Alu-cab install and with out the interior built it is 500#. John (Darkhorse13) is 600# and yielded a 3" lift from the 3.5" rear springs from Clayton.

In about a month I will have my build out done. I am estimating an additional 200#. Installing a 16 gal water tank, Engel fridge, full Battle Born solar/lithium battery system install.

Any questions or details please ask or DM. Good luck.

Late to the game here, but new to the forum, so I'll chime in. I'm running the Clayton 3.5" Overland lift and it's a great lift, but.....the springs sag horribly when it's loaded for trips. I'm running sometimes 800lb static and it sits like a Carolina truck. The only thing I miss about leaf springs is big static load capabilities. I would LOVE for someone to make various length springs for 600 and 800lb static loads. To be clear, this is not the Clayton lift issue. They've designed a great lift for normal loads. If they'd produce the above, I'd be all over it.

I had the Fox 2.5 shocks and Dobinsons springs installed a few days ago. Huge improvement with the body roll feeling. I still feel some slight hop around 30-35mph but I also need to learn more about the shock adjustment and dial it all in. For now it is MUCH stiffer. I also had several Steer Smarts items installed but honestly I can't tell much difference with those. I forgot to get a measurement with the Mopar 2" lift shocks and springs before the install. It does not look to be sagging at all. I don't have a full cabinet build inside but I did have at least 150lbs more of parts in the back yesterday and still didn't really notice any sag.

The first place to start would be to see how much lift you guys are actually getting out of the Mopar lift, especially in the front. If you went with our 2.5" Triple Rate rear coils on a Rubicon, you would see around 3" of lift in the rear with no additional weight or equipment added. We use a much higher spring rate than the Mopar kit coils have, so they definitely can handle extra weight a lot better, but we would have to make sure you guys are putting the right size spring in the rear so we keep some of that positive rake in order to help with the load capacity!

Any ideas how the spring rates of these options compare with the factory Max Tow springs? Curious because also planning a Alu-Cab and it would be interesting to see if the factory springs are even sufficient for the task until a aftermarket option can be had. Seems either Clayton or Dobson springs are a good fit and would be a good comparison to the Max-Tow considering it has a higher rating than the other trim's,

I think we talked on the phone earlier today, but still wanted to provide a quick answer! Basically Jeeps spring rates are not published, but we know we use a higher spring rate than any of the factory options they offer and you will only get improved towing capabilities from the improved spring rate. We of course still recommend going by the factory towing capacity specs :like:

@Clayton Off Road Do you have springs for stock height vehicles or at least something like a 1.5" lift? vs the taller ones?
All I can find is the leveling kit, but I do not want to level it. I just would like a little more height but with better springs

This is my current setup. The RTT is 125lb, the half height rack is roughly 40lbs
Jeep+Trailer = 5900lbs

Yeah I think we did. I posted this question before giving you all a call. Appreciate all the great info today! Will give you all a ring after getting weights added up.

We don't unfortunately at the moment, however, since you are carrying some extra weight in the rear you may want to look into using our 1.5" coil up front with the 2.5" in the rear. The rear would probably be compressed enough with the added weight that the setup would look like a 1.5"-2" kit all around. Something to consider!

Besides what’s been listed here with Clayton and Dobson. AEV has released a Heavy Duty Spring as well.

Just went to take a peak at their stuff. Looks like they offer tuned springs and shocks but they re-use the factory arms and use a drop bracket instead. Not sure how performance of this type would compare with say Clayton, or Mopar with Dobinson springs. It is interesting to me that more and more places are offering non-adjustable options.

there is much information out there about AEV and it’s performance. It rates very high for ride quality and capability. Take a look on YT for comparisons to others. Trairecxon did a good one a while back. It’s all in what your looking to do and for out of a system.

Anyone have suspension squeak after install? I had Fox 2.5 shocks and Dobinson springs along with several Steer Smarts items installed. I have read that it may be coming from things being torqued while on a lift and not on the ground. I am going to loosen things today while it is on the ground and re-torque to see what happens.

Lifting and ride quality can be a real pain. Stiffer springs and shocks along with more CA angle can transmit much of the bump into the frame and make for a stiff ride. Added weight for overland travel vs empty for home use, good luck. If you are going to go from 500-700 loaded to zero it's going to be fun getting a good ride for both. Perhaps air bags in the coils and adj shocks. I went through all that on my JKUR and still working on it.
