How hard was the install? I'm on the fence between American adventure labs and this one.An unexpected day off so I took advantage and installed my Rugged Ridge DRL Chop Brackets

Looks really good. But got to ask, aren’t you worried about severely injuring someone if the passenger airbag deploys? One of those $83 good-nuff-item. 30 min prep and install of a carbon-fiber-look for my dash board and shift panel trims. So excited I decided to do it tonite at 73 deg temp, temp will dip down to 40s later and I hope those trims don't fall off by morning. Ha!

The airbag deploys from below that panel. IMO if your in a scenario where the airbags deploy the additional plastic of that cover wont make a difference.Looks really good. But got to ask, aren’t you worried about severely injuring someone if the passenger airbag deploys?
I hadn’t thought of that before this post, but I think any of that could cause significant injuries. I don’t have one of those trays and don’t really want one. I like a tidy vehicle and that’s just another place for people to put junk. IMOThe airbag deploys from below that panel. realistically the trays that we all have in our passenger side grab handles pose more of a danger since it sits directly under the airbag and allows us to pile crap in it that would sit directly in the airbag’s path.
And thats the 2” aev spacer lift only? Thanks, 315/70/17

I wanted the Rugged Ridge kit but at the time they only had the Rubicon version w/DRL. Rugged Ridge did have a chop bracket for the Sport S but w/o the DRL. At the same time, I was looking at American Adventure but was not sure they had Sport S version also they were on a 6 week back order. How hard was the install? Yes sirAnd thats the 2” aev spacer lift only?
Everything I have seen shows it deploying from the center of that panel like the below picture. I agree a loaded up tray is dangerous as well. The airbag deploys from below that panel. IMO if your in a scenario where the airbags deploy the additional plastic of that cover wont make a difference.

Hate to see a Jeep look like this. It seems like the dash panel is meant to be sacrificial and lose out to the airbag. An aftermarket cover on top could be disastrous.Everything I have seen shows it deploying from the center of that panel like the below picture. I agree a loaded up tray is dangerous as well.

I was told it deployed from that slot just below the dash panel that says airbag in it. Clearly that one is through the dash though. I wonder if its both…either way I completely agree a cover could be problematic.Everything I have seen shows it deploying from the center of that panel like the below picture. Just trying to keep everyone safe. It’s a shame as there are some cool doodads that could go there. I think a vinyl wrap or sticker would tear easily enough in that location.I was told it deployed from that slot just below the dash panel that says airbag in it. edit:
I was %100 wrong. It deploys through the center of the dash panel. See the video i linked and skip to 2:31.
