Anyone else hardly seeing 7or 8 gear?
Mine is a 2022 with the max tow automatic with the Mopar lift and 35x12.5r17 M/T tires. I have the Tazer mini Jl and my speedometer is dead on with GPS. But still i don’t hit 7 gear very often and 8th is rare. Any suggestions???

4.88s, or if you plan to go to 37s ever, 5.13s

I've got a 2022 JTRD with 37's (BFG 37x12.50x17 KM3's, and 2 inch Mopar lift, dealer installed, plus 4.88, dealer installed) , runs in 8th gear on the freeway, all the time, even uphill, at 75 mph+. Runs right at 2,000 rpm at 68 mph. Love it. Beautiful! Wouldn't bother with 4.56. This suits me just fine, until my Tesla Cybertruck arrives, then, it will instantly be, "Buh, bye, JT, hello CT3!"

The world's going all electric, and faster than anyone ever thought!

WooHoo! Love Elon Musk, baby!

Just put 315-70-17 BFG KO2 Cs on and I hit 8th just like I did before. They are really only 34.25 tall. Plenty big enough for me with no other adjustments.

2020 JTR with tow package. I have 35x 12.50. 17 Toyo RT. Had same problem your having. I just reheated to 4:88. Plan on when these tires wear out, to move to 37’s. I love the 4:88 with the 35’s. Does 8th gear almost all the time on the freeway now.

What kind of gas mileage do you get?

That ain't bad MPG if accurate and it should be if you compared ODOMETER readings and not SPEEDometer readings.
I used a GPS and my phone (not the truck's NAV!) and ran a number of miles after setting my trip meter to 0 and the GPS, etc. to 0.
After 17 miles they matched to the tenth of a mile.
Even though with my prior calculated settings the speedometer had matched before - the odo didn't so I knew I had to do better. Speedometers don't account for fractions, they round. The odometer is the only true way to calibrate tire sizes.
Now my odometer and cluster mpg numbers match using an app to figure mpg - they are always within tenths of each other in mpg.

You have larger and heavier tires, that means more effort to get and keep moving against the wind and hills.
When it's windy here I don't see 8th unless it's a tail wind and I have tires the same diameter as stock (32.2") and a 3.73 ratio.
Your tires will impact things just like if I went to 33 or 34 on mine. I didn't see 8th as much when I had 33" tires on mine (but then Iowa is hilly so I was almost always on a hill one way or another.

You can also look at it this way - 7th and 8th are OD gears and your MPG if accurate isn't bad.
So - your decision - is it really a problem? If so, like almost everyone else said - regear.

Speedo is good. Used a super chip programmer and check it with my cell phone GPS. At 75 the the speedometer is reading 74

? That ain't good, IMO - it will throw the cluster's MPG off.
For me it's correct if I can drive 20.0 miles on the trip meter and my GPS says I went 20.0 miles and the GPS says I just hit 75 when the speedometer says I just hit 75.
Your truck, though so whatever you feel is good or correct ain't up to me.

2nd this. I’m on 37’s with a lift and with 5.13:1 I see 7th and 8th without issue. Unless I’m on a steep uphill grade, then all bets are off. Lots of 4th and 5th. :)

With the dumb Tazer, I had to choose the closest available tire diameter in the list. I think the list is built into the computer, and Tazer just pulls from that. Checking via independent GPS, as you did, got me within 0.5 mph approximately. Have you figured out a way to get closer? I measured my tire on the ground, for accurate height under the weight of the vehicle.
