I’ve had a couple times where I’ve pressure washed the inside of the wheeel and gotten tones of back spray in my face, usually accompanied with mud and rocks. I can’t imagine doing it with no open spokes.
Thanks for the heads up lol

I like the look of black rhino, but the ones I’ve seen up close don’t hold up. The powder coat never looks good after some use, at least the ones I’ve seen. Flaking and bubbling.
I had read some bad reviews of the Black Rhinos, but not enough to keep me from pulling the trigger. I'm almost a year in on my B/R Overlands, and so far they still look brand new. Time will tell......

Nice. I hadn’t seen these. Very nice look. I wonder if the finish issues are more prevalent with the military style solid wheels.

Thanks. I remember reading about some issues with the finish on the Arsenals, which is mainly why I went with the Overlands. But I don't remember how recently those issues were reported. I really like the "army truck" look of the Arsenals though.

I do too, but yours are likely way lighter, and everyone does the arsenal look. Yours are more unique.

I was pleasantly surprised at how light this set up is. I wish I had weighed them before putting them on just to see how much they do weigh. It's nice not dropping a kidney when I rotate them.

I know that I am late to this party, but I really like the Mopar aftermarket rims. They are wider and have a good backspacing. I am running them with 35x12.5 tires.

I personally think they look more "Factory" than most.

Of all the OEM wheel designs, I think the Overland’s are definitely the best looking.
They are nice but I like the Willys rims the best. Everyone likes what they like.

Been window shopping, playing with the idea of getting 8.5 or 9 inch wide wheels so I can fit 37s. But one of the major problems I keep running into is I just don't like most aftermarket wheels. The willys wheels are probably my favorite of the stocks, with the simplicity of the mojaves being a close second.

I like the fiften52 analog hds, but they aren't the right offset I want. The method 703s are the perfect offset, and definitely less on the aftermarket looking side, but still look aftermarket a little.

I want my truck to look like it came from the factory with 37s, not like I modified it.

So that leaves me with the post title question. Why do aftermarket wheels look so decidedly aftermarket?
Not sure if someone already said this, but look at Quadratec's wheels. They are modeled after factory styling and are very close. They are the same size (offset/backspacing/width) as AEV. I've got a set on my 2008 Wrangler and the quality is outstanding. They are several years old now and have seen plenty of road salt and mud and the finish is holding up beautifully. They are priced well, too. They have a version that matches just about every factory design but offer more color choices in some.

Quadratec also makes stock wheel copies in 9” width with 3.5” back spacing I believe (or is it 4.5? ) still way better than stock. I have one of these quadratec wheels that match my Rubicon wrangler wheels and you can not tell the difference accept… no red Willie’s Jeep on the lip. You can however purchase a sticker to match the other wheels.

those are recon wheels at +11 offset? If so are you running 12.5 width tires and would you mind taking a picture down the fenders to show the poke? Cause i love those wheels (look AND price) but i'm unsure going with any less offset than 25 until I see poke photos. My goal is just the sidewalls bulging past the flares, but a hint of shoulder wouldn't kill me.

Sorry it took so long but here you go.

Never apologize for doing a stranger a favor, no matter the time frame!

That's more poke than I wanted. Are you running 12.5 inch wide tires? If so I think I'm really stuck with +25 offset for the look I want with 12.5s.

I think my research has left me with only 4 options:
1. toyo 35x11.5s on factory rims ($1825 unmounted for 5, $1460 for 4 after that)

2. territory MTs on AEV SALTAs ($2705 unmounted with rims for 5, 968 for 4 after that)

3. territory MTs on Method 703s ($2990 unmounted with rims for 5, 968 for 4 after that)

4. Say fuck poke restraint and get the TACTIK 5 Spoke i really wish were at the right offset with territory MTs ($1660 unmounted for 5, 968 for 4 after that)

USAA 25% Goodyear discount is really doing most of the heavy lifting in dollar cost averaging the more expensive rims. Gotta try to remember that
