Curious how people interpret the many available trims and who they're catered to (in a few words)...

Could help potential buyers and save people from trading in for a different model to better suit their needs (after the fact):

TRIMS:

Interesting idea. Of course chosen options will blur these lines but as for starting points, here's my input:

TRIMS:

Sport: want as manual/basic as possible

Willy's Sport: want as manual/basic as possible, but a few physical upgrades (rails, LSD, wheels/tires)

Sport S: want comfort options to build from, or wanting the Max Tow package

Altitude: want fancier than a sport S

Willys: want comforts with some off road features but a Rubi is over kill or over budget

Overland: want luxury touches like a wrapped dash

Rubicon: want off-the-lot ready to go crawler

Mojave: want off-the-lot ready to go off roader where it's not all crawling

High Altitude: want every possible option I can get, excluding off road features

I bought a sport because I wanted a manual and I couldn't afford anything else lol. The dealership had 4 sticks on the lot black white red and billet silver. silver it is!

I bought a Sport because I knew I was going to be paying for new suspension, wheels, etc but next time I will buy a Rubicon and save some headaches with future upgrades. It bums me out to know there were some Rubicons and Mojaves in September of 2020 that I could have bought new for less than a Sport S goes today

TRIMS:

Sport: For someone who wants the most basic model, and or will be tearing literally everything apart in upgrades

Willy's Sport: For someone who wants a super basic model with a bit more out of the box capability

Sport S: For someone who doesn't want a lot of the off-road performance parts, but still wants modern day creature comforts

Altitude: For someone who wants a trim with Overland-style creature comforts and looks, but at a Sport price

Willys: For the Sport S buyer who wants more out of the box capability but doesn't want to go all the way to the Rubicon

Overland: For someone who wants a truck that is more geared towards luxury than off-road capability, or for someone who wants to tear everything apart to upgrade performance-wise but have luxury inside

Rubicon: For someone who is serious about wheeling

Mojave: For someone who is serious about wheeling, but wants to go faster when off road

High Altitude: For someone who wants a Range Rover but likes Jeeps

Another "let's judge other people based on what they buy" thread.
Is there any other reason for these?

I know that most Gladiators sold are NOT the upper trim levels. I haven't bought a Gladiator yet, but I intend to drive several different trim levels before I make a choice. Most people, myself included, don't need and will never use all the capability of a basic Gladiator. But I will buy the one I want, knowing that I will be making the payments, without worrying about other people's opinions.

The trims are kinda conveluted. They start to blend together, once you start looking at them. I basically needed 7k tow capacity, so it was a Max Tow or Rubicon. There were no Max Tows on the lots, so I went with the Rubicon. I must admit, I prefered having a Rubicon anyways. Our mall parking lot it rough.

If Jeep can't make it easy to distinguish between the models on thier website, we are not going to be able to do it here.

Gladiator Rubicon - perfect for the weekends with Dad driving and the dogs in the back seat heading up to the mountains.

Wrangler High Altitude 4xe - All the stuff she wants and smooth as silk to head to the grocery store and on the highway trips.
