While I love the idea of a 4xe (I think plug ins are a LOT more the near future than full EVs. We don't have the grid ready if everyone went pure EV today) half the appeal of the gladiator to me was the manual transmission.

I'm not going back to an automatic or cvt until every last manual is discontinued.

My guess would be after the I-6TT is settled into the Wrangler-

Per the Jeep dude at the Jeep Adventure Academy last weekend every Jeep model line will have a 4xe option by ‘24.

Engineering.............
The Gladiator was introduced as "best in class payload and towing" (in specific models). Batteries are heavy, they have to run these through their paces for towing and payload. It's a lot easier with an SUV where you aren't buying it to use as a truck or town a travel trailer.
It took a lot to get the JT to where it was to begin with - now to have to deal with different weight distribution, centers of gravity, and performance issues and certify for towing and payload, it's going to take some time.

Frankly, if one were available in 2023, I'd have at least looked at it......but figured one wasn't coming that soon so went with a 2022.

Jeep sold a little under 90,000 Gladiators last year. That's it. It's hard to justify multiple powertrains for a vehicle that sells under 90,000 copies per year. I'm frankly surprised we even got the diesel.

If they wish to sell in Europe, it's a must. It's why they dropped the 2 door Wrangler in EU - they had to go electric to keep selling there.
They may decide it's not worth it, but seeing the target for the desert version of the JT, and the sales in Israel, we're simply guessing.
Everything is pure speculation based on????? until or unless Jeep says something.
Since they must sell the Wrangler over there, and the drivetrains are all but the same, yeah, it's all speculation.
Saying they won't - speculation.
Saying they will - speculation.

But that's what the internet is all about - toss it out there and see if it sticks to the wall - if it does after time, then gee, that person must have some smarts!

Although I'm also a manual only guy, my wife has a plug-in X3 and I love the ability to go most places on electric power with the flexibility to take a long trip using gas. For most drivers, this is a great compromise and there's nothing like the smooth torque of an electric motor.

Also, we've never even used a charger outside of our garage for electricity since she just plugs it into a household outlet at night.

Will we see it in 2023? Whats taking so long?

I would bet that if my wife hadn't already traded her 2018 Grand Cherokee for a 2021, we'd be out looking at those - with electric capabilities. A ton of money, but with how she drives her Jeep, it would be a big savings over the long haul as far as gas. Many of her trips are 90 minutes or less, most under 60 minutes, and the most common are 30-40 minutes with the bulk of speed limits being under 55 around us. It's a perfect vehicle for her driving habits.
My garage is detached but the guy who built this house was a major contractor employee - and he built things overkill. 5 nails? Heck, use 8. 16" centers" Naw, go 12".
There is a thick concrete driveway and walkway between the house and garage, but he planned for that - conduits between the house and garage, only one of them used - for the 60 amp feed to the garage. Welding outlets, 20 amp outlets (air compressor, etc. and I used to run powder coating and my Forney welder out there)
So it's equipped with electric to handle any charging necessities.
But with me getting my 2020 updated to a 2022, and her already having a 2021 Grand Cherokee, looks like no electric in our future any time soon, anyway.
I'm an old-skool gas guy, nothing like cubes and carburetors and big cams and headers, but I appreciate other machines as well. Heck, I'd look at some sort of nuke powered DeLorean if anyone ever comes up with that idea.
I just like power and machines and things that move or spin or reciprocate.

We had a Wrangler Rubicon 4xe wheel with us this weekend. He had a problem with the Trans getting hot, whereas none of the gas or diesels were having issues.

Which proves that any vehicle can have a problem, I guess. Do they ALL have transmission heating issues, or just that one? Just curious...........
