I discovered this while going to check my washer fluid and oil level. Guessing the black “cloth” outer layer is a plant based material. Fkn rodents!

Got the Ebay Hoist-A-Top installed.
It took longer than expected, but It's a beautiful day and I took my time and made sure everything was nice and tidy.
The way Jeep engineered the hard top to wrap around a garage door opener is pretty genius!

The stair riser worked perfectly!

Their website is awful about locating the manual crank hoist.
The one I got one eBay was second hand but mostly new in box.
I think the previous owner had some trouble getting the piece that slips through the rear window together. I had to chuck the removable insert piece in a vise and use a bolt as a rounded influencer to roll the metal so it would go in far enough to get the pin inserted.

Full disclosure: haven’t installed it yet so I can’t confirm everything is all good. It seems they do use scrapped units as the back had some scuffs, and the left side d-pad’s left button is…mushy. It’s not a great feel, but luckily don’t use that one very often. Just worried if it’s functioning at all.

Some follow-ups:

* I took the wheel apart and it appears the mushiness was due to material overlapping to the inside of the button housing, and the rocker was actually pressing against it. I used a knife and dremel to clear out the overhang and it seems to have resolved it.
* The back cover appears to be from a model with paddle shifters. I need to double check the factory one, whether there are covers to swap over. Regardless, I’m actually planning to swap in the OEM cover which will “fix” the issue with the scuff marks.

Not defending them, but these are fixable problems. Just be warned you may have to make slight adjustments.

Installed new TeraFlex Ball Joints. My OEM Ball Joints had 14k on them and they were already showing signs of failure. Loose steering, steering shimmy at around 45-50mph and the occasional bump steer. I was shocked how loose they were when I removed the knuckles. They just flopped around!

Nothing against you at all, but Amazon. Becoming such a shady cesspool of fake reviews to bump up crap products. I’ve always relied heavily on reviews to buy a good product, but now it’s entirely a leap of faith it seems.

fortunately this only seems to apply to odd knockoff type Asian products.

Seems every other time I buy something I get solicited with a gift card or who knows what for a 5 star review.
