Hey All,

I read through a lot of the posts regarding the possible suspension fixes. My glad on the highway feels almost dangerous on the highway when I hit a pump. The shocks almost remind me of bad shocks where they have no rebound and just keep bobbing up and down. Was in middle lane, hit a a series of pumps and almost ended in the slow lane lol. Little over exaggeration but, you get the idea. Front end and back end feel this way. looking under the rear there is a swear bar installed.

Jeep details:
2022 Jeep Glad willy
miles - 656

customer preferred package 24W
44 front an rear axle
stock tires - LT255/75R 17C OWL On/Off Road tires
stock wheels - 17-inch x 7.5 inch black aluminum
Tire pressure - 38 in all four PSI but its warm today so will double check
Shocks - standard from what I can tell from the paper work

Did the Hellwig Swaybar really help others with this problem? I am thinking of making an appointment with the detailer to see what they think about the issue and how to fix it.

What year, trim, how many miles, are these the stock tires? Which tires and wheels? What PSI are the tires inflated to?

I have 22,000 miles Highway interstate gravel and off road. Trailered 5,000 pounds through michigan snow and wind. Never had issue # 1
one white knuckle event involved an 18 wheeler drifting into my lane in a narrow construction area.
I have read of these drivability issues but I have also drove old mack trucks that wander like a bloated cow.
The gladiator is smooth and tight

My Sport-S NON-max-tow rides great on the highway. If it's very windy, then I sometimes get some drift, but under normal circumstances it's just fine. Do you have a lift and bigger tires?

38 does indeed sound high, especially on those M/Ts. I've got a 21' Willys and noticed the biggest difference in overall highway mannerisms when I began adding weight in the back. I've now got a rack, RTT and bed-slide in back. Before that it was very jittery and felt like it took awhile to regain composure when hitting imperfections at speed. Next biggest impact on ride quality was the bump to 35s (on 17" wheels) which softened it up a bit more. Being in RI, if you've got some bag salt handy from winter, throw a few 100lbs over the rear axle and see if you notice a difference.

Is this your first Jeep? If you are coming from a vehicle world with IFS and into a solid front axle set up, you will notice a big change. Some of us who have driven jeeps forever will say that this is the best Jeep ride we have ever had. Like some others have said, reduce the air pressure in your tires. If the pressure is too high, its like you are riding on balloons. When I switched to 37's, the pressure was set at 40 from tire place. I was bouncing all over the place. Once lowered to 32 psi, I haven't had an issue since.

All of your stuff sounds stock for Willey.

I have a stock Sport S Max Tow with stock wheels and tires, etc. and all the options you have. I Have run everything from 37 (which it is now) to the $@$%$ 41 PSI the dealer set and have not had a single issue on the highway all the way up to 80 mph even with bumps. The only time I drifted was when we had 60 mph crosswinds and that was a bear.

My Willys seemed the same, I did not like the 255 Destination MT's I took them off and went with a set of 285/70/17 BFG AT on a set of Rubicon wheels. And the BFGs seems to have settled it down. But I know what you are describing.
Uneven things like painted and repainted built up cross walk stripes and school zone repainted built up striping would make it wishy washy. But it is much better with the BFG. And no this is not my first Jeep, just saying.

I don't know what suspensions the Willy's has but the Rubicon suspension is not good. It is designed soft for more flex but rides like a blown out 70s Cadillac suspension on the road. The shocks do not dampen at all and it just rocks all over the place. I am stock 2020 Rubicon. Going AEV suspension when I can as I've had good success with it in my JK. Honestly, anything will be better than stock Rubicon suspension. :D

37s with a 3” lift .....one of the best riding vehicles I have ever had off road or on road. That includes many full size pick ups to luxury SUVs to sports cars and my first Jeep ever.

I have never ever experienced a feeling of “ dangerous” .....even with high winds.

It must be your driving or shitty roads where you live. ?

Start with lowering your air pressure to 30 PSI in each tire when cold. That will put it in the 35-36 PSI range when they heat up.

Check all 4 shocks for an oily coating. Yes that means running your hand up and down the entire shock. If you find an oil coat, you have a bad shock.

Don't start dumping money on it to fix a problem, find the problem.

Wow. I got my hardtop maxtow, automatic, with premium audio for 43 flat. I triple checked the pricing sheet and can't understand how that's more expensive than Rubicons I looked at when I first started looking.

On topic- Reduce air pressure and report back. That would be the first and only thing to do for now to see if that helps.
