lol got me! and I'd litterally love an inline six Cummins diesel ram!

but I did mean a Ram 1500, or any vehicle with a truck bed and some towing capacity.
Was just messin with ya man, sittin at home bored wishing I owned a Gladiator.?

it's okay, I know the feeling you are feeling right now. today was hard seeing all the other jeeps with their tops off ?

Even with this experience I'd say go for it. I have gotten a lot of smiles per mile in the gladiator. My gladiator replaced my tacoma and my convertible bmw, and until recently was pretty sweet at filling both roles.

Umm....

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Gladiator first among midsize pickups in their 2021 Initial Quality Study. The Tacoma isn’t in the top three.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jeep vehicles are better in initial quality than Toyota vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jeep 8th in initial quality, above the industry average. With 8 more problems per 100 vehicles, Toyota is ranked 13th.

I
So I work in manufacturing, I understand some things have issues. That in itself doesn't get to me too badly. I get that things take time to fix, (new eta is the 6th). but what gets me is that at this price point I'm not in a comparable vehicle. if they gave me a dodge ram I'd be able to do everything I need to with the truck, getting a 4cylinder economy suv is impacting my life.
I understand it’s not the fault of you necessarily, parts can be defective but it should be more rare than it is, like you said especially at this price point.

It is inexcusable to have issues like that with a new vehicle
We all have our opinions. I wouldn’t call $45k an expensive vehicle, as an example.

lol, it’s not cheap… mine was $54,000, much cheaper vehicles around, Jeep is pricy in comparison to a lot but still love them.

I call bullsheet.

Have owned many Jeeps during my life - currently have a Wrangler, Gladiator and Grand Cherokee - 11,000 miles and no issues with the Gladiator - nothing - oil change.

It appears there are a lot of “crazy girlfriends” here in Maine - there are more Jeeps on the road than any other vehicle. Its a tough climate, so highly doubt that would be the case if they were always breaking down.

Only Toyota I ever owned - 05 Toyota Tundra - nice enough truck - simple but solid - folks kept asking about the “bad frame”.

Just saying.

You lost me at “2000 miles in, and when I brought it in 5000 miles for the first oil change I told the service manager”

I am sorry for your issues and the inconvenience it has caused. Maybe not wait 3k miles after the start of a noise?
For any future new vehicles- the first 10k miles any noise, fluid loss etc. should be addressed as the motor breaks in.
Tacomas have their own set of issues, and lack of any power issues too…. Toyota isn’t what it was on the first 3 generations….

And to think, it’s pretty easy to drop an equal amount of cash into modifying them. ? ??

That sucks.
I think I might have been inclined to drive it with the tick and keep the vacation. Let the guy who called it normal figure out what to do if it blows up on you.
Thats exactly what i would have done!! My Jeep guy's probaly would have told me to!!

This is my first sad post and just a complaining one to get attention in general. I've been pro-jeep for 6 months and 10k miles, and now I'm feeling the regret I've read about many times on these forums.

So I am screwed for my upcoming vacation plans. I feel like @ygrignon (except my travel plans are less epic) as I'm now having his exact same problem, I needed a truck and accidentally got a jeep. My jeep has been in the shop since Monday for a ticking noise coming from the engine. Now I wont be able to take my camper for my 4th of July and likely at this rate the following trip on the 12th of July. @JeepCares

Full story my engine started ticking at about 2000 miles in, and when I brought it in 5000 miles for the first oil change I told the service manager to have it checked out with the oil change and first service. Was told it they checked a new jeep and that this is normal on these engines. Now I'm at 10k miles and I know its not a "normal" sound so I scheduled a test drive of a new gladiator and turns out new jeeps don't have a loud ticking noise coming from the engine.

I don't mind that the jeep has a problem, but the fact that there is not a similar vehicle as a loaner/rental and the service is soooo slow due to the backlog of other broken cars, means that I can't take my trash to the dump, and I can't tow my camper to my scheduled vacation, and it is really leaving me in a bind.

This is my obligatory post where I regret getting a jeep and should have kept my tacoma, as at least toyota can fix a truck in under a week. :( This will impact my raving about how awesome max tow jeeps are in general.

Side note the fricken jeep wave customer hotline 844-JEEP-WAVE has too many digits to be an US phone number and verizon wont complete that call... Shows that the jeep waver hot line here must be coming from Western New Jersey @John in the Woods for the survey! Though if @jeepwave is hiring a customer hotline phone service answer-er I'm 100% ready for the job! ;)
I had a ticking noise and it turned out that my U Joint bearing fell out, which caused the rotational clicking noise. The wheel has to be in the right spot to see it, I did find it the second time I looked. The clicking noise which was loud at times and could have been quite dangerous. The C clip used to hold the bushing in can come out I looked it up on the various forums and there are multiple reports. They had to replace my left axel etc. The vehicle was about 6 months old at the time. I hope they are able to pin point the issue. I love my Jeep JTR but I may look into the new Electric Silverado.

Every car will have problems. I have two Jeeps and have had zero issues with them. However I had a third that was full of gremlins. So it just comes with the territory. Issues still come even if you bought a Lamborghini. It is what it is. Even the precious Toyota has issues. The problem mainly comes when they develop new engines, transmissions, and systems. When we buy a first year model from a major change, it’s what we risk. Keep you head up, it’s one year, everything happens for a reason and maybe this reason saved your life.

Yea, this is partially why I didn't just drive it when they agreed with me that it was a real issue/different sound. I don't know what it is, and I don't want to find out at a campground 4 hours from home

I agree, I think I got over swayed by the reliability reports, there was no way I was buying a 2020, but the end of 2021 after good reports on 2020 seemed safe, especially going gasser the pentastar is a decade old.

At least you got that, I know so many people that got screwed on the diesel. Second, the greatest part (albeit expensive) is that when you break something on it you just put something better in place of it. No other vehicle has the aftermarket support that a jeep does.
