Jeeps are definitely not Toyotas...they are reliable, don't ride like log wagons and will last forever unlike toyotas which break down and are recalled constantly

I was thinking the same thing.
I should have, because they ignored me the first time when I said it had a rocker arm tick, my cams are already scored and needed to be replaced, at least I'll have less metal circulating in oil than if I waited longer

The problem is on misguided perspective of jeep. Jeep is for off road not towing duty.

Yes you should have stayed in your taco or get full-size truck for towing!
Tacoma’s are terrible for towing!

That is probably the most uneducated asinine thing I’ve read today, and I browse Reddit.

my wife drives a 2020 sr5 4x4 4 runner. i took these pictures the other day because i couldn’t believe what they call a skid plate. a $99 push mower is thicker metal. trd may be different but wasn’t needed for my wife. 4x4 is just for snow on that rig. i also remember be shocked at how tiny the front driveshaft was. the transfer case skid is bolted to the transfer case and all the skides are so thin i really believe a man of average strength could punch a dent in it if you was determined to do so. im glad jeeps are not toyotas.

Dang, the skid plates under my SX4 are twice that thick! And bolted to the chassis.

I'm sure the aluminum body will. I hope your JT is a diesel- when I start approaching 100K clicks on the odometer, I'm out before the sixth digit rolls over. This motor ain't the 2.5L or the 4.0L.....
I think the bed and doors are the only aluminum parts of the JT

Not even remotely close to the same thing.

completely and utterly inexcusable, especially at this price point, sorry, man.
Would disagree, so long as they are attempting to make it right. Inexcusable, would be the dealer saying “that’s normal” to something that clear isn’t. The Pentastar motor has been around for a pretty good while and used in many vehicles with a pretty decent track record. Anything mechanical can break.

All that said, it always sucks to have your new vehicle in the shop, particularly for major issues.

It is inexcusable to have issues like that with a new vehicle

So I work in manufacturing, I understand some things have issues. That in itself doesn't get to me too badly. I get that things take time to fix, (new eta is the 6th). but what gets me is that at this price point I'm not in a comparable vehicle. if they gave me a dodge ram I'd be able to do everything I need to with the truck, getting a 4cylinder economy suv is impacting my life.

Think I’d be more pissed if they gave me a Dodge Ram. Thing would be so old and worn out it probably wouldn’t make the trip. I mean the very newest Dodge Ram was built in 2009 so you’re looking at 13 years old today.
Now one of the newer Ram trucks I could see. Those are pretty nice.

lol got me! and I'd litterally love an inline six Cummins diesel ram!

but I did mean a Ram 1500, or any vehicle with a truck bed and some towing capacity.
