JeepCares is an interface, a communicator. They aren't marketing as there is zip mentioned about them anywhere but forums!
They track troubles, help coordinate with dealers.
They are forum based, nothing more.

Yeah, right - who does that? And who can do it these days when you can't even rent such things in many locations. Good luck with that.

Like posted before - "death wobble" isn't just a Jeep thing. Ford and others have experienced it - even big trucks. It's not restricted to the Jeep name and it's been around for decades.

Jeeps have been among the most reliable vehicles we've owned. No worse, no better.
I had a shimmy/wobble in my F250 that 2 grand worth of new parts couldn't resolve.
It got to the point that the engine couldn't keep up the speed limit while I was towing - dealer said nothing wrong with it.
Automatic hubs gave out when my wife needed the truck the most - and it was stuck broken in the driveway in front of her JEEP, preventing her from going to an appointment while I was in Eugene. She was pissed.
The only truck I never really had problems with was my 2011 Silverado - zero issues.
wouldn't it be nice if we had these expectations? I agree it's strongly dealer based, and the assurances I was given on purchase about "24/7 support and trip interruption" by Jeep wave led me to expect better.

you are right I'm pot stirring, I could have ordered parts and replaced the lifters and rockers on my own 2 days ago, but I have a warranty and don't want to void it. I'm really hoping that the dealer magics up some prioritization for my truck and that @JeepCares could help. the fact that I have never had to blast the internet for any of my previous vehicles could be a sign of the times or could be the dead eye stare I got when I asked the service manager what I was supposed to do as they held my truck for the 4th day without starting the work...

my wife drives a 2020 sr5 4x4 4 runner. i took these pictures the other day because i couldn’t believe what they call a skid plate. a $99 push mower is thicker metal. trd may be different but wasn’t needed for my wife. 4x4 is just for snow on that rig. i also remember be shocked at how tiny the front driveshaft was. the transfer case skid is bolted to the transfer case and all the skides are so thin i really believe a man of average strength could punch a dent in it if you was determined to do so. im glad jeeps are not toyotas.

I'm a new member here, my wife and I just bought a 2021 Gladiator to replace her F250. Didn't tow with it anymore, I have a 2022 F350 for that purpose. Anyway, always have loved jeeps, and the combination of a 4 door jeep with truck bed is perfect for us. I used to swear by Toyota. The last one was a 2008 tundra, bought new. In the ten years I owned it, the truck went through brakes like crazy, needed a air injection pump replaced, needed the cam towers resealed along with the rest of the top end, and a host of other issues. The cam tower thing required 2 weeks to fix. No brand is perfect, and it's never fun to have problems. Hopefully the op's jeep is fixed quickly.

Not a Jeep
This is my first sad post and just a complaining one to get attention in general. I've been pro-jeep for 6 months and 10k miles, and now I'm feeling the regret I've read about many times on these forums.

So I am screwed for my upcoming vacation plans. I feel like @ygrignon (except my travel plans are less epic) as I'm now having his exact same problem, I needed a truck and accidentally got a jeep. My jeep has been in the shop since Monday for a ticking noise coming from the engine. Now I wont be able to take my camper for my 4th of July and likely at this rate the following trip on the 12th of July. @JeepCares

Full story my engine started ticking at about 2000 miles in, and when I brought it in 5000 miles for the first oil change I told the service manager to have it checked out with the oil change and first service. Was told it they checked a new jeep and that this is normal on these engines. Now I'm at 10k miles and I know its not a "normal" sound so I scheduled a test drive of a new gladiator and turns out new jeeps don't have a loud ticking noise coming from the engine.

I don't mind that the jeep has a problem, but the fact that there is not a similar vehicle as a loaner/rental and the service is soooo slow due to the backlog of other broken cars, means that I can't take my trash to the dump, and I can't tow my camper to my scheduled vacation, and it is really leaving me in a bind.

This is my obligatory post where I regret getting a jeep and should have kept my tacoma, as at least toyota can fix a truck in under a week. :( This will impact my raving about how awesome max tow jeeps are in general.

Side note the fricken jeep wave customer hotline 844-JEEP-WAVE has too many digits to be an US phone number and verizon wont complete that call... Shows that the jeep waver hot line here must be coming from Western New Jersey @John in the Woods for the survey! Though if @jeepwave is hiring a customer hotline phone service answer-er I'm 100% ready for the job! ;)
Major bummer that your vacation is messed up. Sorry to hear that. I currently have the tick followed by a slight rap when the engine is cold. No metal in the oil or filter and once up to temp there’s no noise. I’m lucky that its not my daily driver so I plan on driving, towing, and wheeling it until it blows up or one month before my warranty ends. Which ever come 1st. Then I’ll bring it in.

Only people in these forums even are aware of JeepCares so how can it be marketing?
Marketing is when you tell people that something exists before you buy, and they'll take care of you.
Hundreds of thousands of Jeep owners are not in this or the Wrangler forum so have never heard of JeepCares.
JeepCares is not mentioned in any book, any fliers, any advertising, there's no contact information, no number, no email address.
Pretty sad marketing! LOL - they don't even tell Jeep buyers.
You have to join this or the Wrangler forum to even know they exist.
There are different levels of marketing. Those that attract you to a product, and those that make you aware of a service once a consumer has brought a product. Of course, there are a lot more areas of marketing. JeepCares is definitely marketing, done with intention.

Do you have any other dealerships you could talk to about the repairs. I know its hit of miss with them as originally my dealership maintenance department was pure crap but they got new management and have been doing much better. Since I don't know the degree of your repair can't compare normally when I have brought mine in its out within 2-3 day depending on things. Last time I was there one of the people told me they were having trouble finding good techs and short on people

Hey Kevin, sorry to hear about your issues you're dealing with.

Your gladiator wouldn't by chance be sported with the diesel would it? I ask because I've ran across a similar issue with my dad's JL diesel- out of no where it begin making this obnoxious clicking/clacking noise. I did a bit of research and come to find out, the exhaust bracket I believe shortly after the manifold has an issue and cannot maintain the constant vibrations the diesel pushes out. Got down under his JL and sure enough, the sucker had snapped causing the bracket every so often to to be in a position where it's smacking the mount point causing this noise.

I'd take a look, follow your exhaust and check all mounting points, if you come across a broken bracket, I'd say you found your issue.

I found this information digging through some forums that I've since forgotten, but it seems to be a bit of an issue with these engines + brackets. The dealerships haven't caught on to it just from what I can tell.

I'm hoping this doesn't turn into an issue with my JT, but if it does I plan to pull out the buzz box and make sure it can't happen again before taking it into the dealership where many others have had their vehicles stranded while the mechanics are scratching their heads. Ideally a recall will come out to replace these brackets with something more beefier.

Worth a look a least! Good luck

I had a 2015 4Runner before my Gladiator. It had all kinds of issues. One major engine issue, then tons little things broke. Everything form the door locks, window motors, actuating cables for the seats, brakes constantly wore out, totally under powered, lack of features. After 5 years of ownership, I wasn’t really impressed with 4Runners any more.

25k miles on my gladiator and I have a few things I need to take it for. The trans makes a little whining noise at high rpm’s, and the rear locker sensor has oil leaking through it. So I have the bypass plug for it. I’ll take it in after the 4th and see how it goes. I’ve never owned a vehicle that didn’t have to go into the dealership for warranty work. So at this point I’m not concerned.

I'm sure the aluminum body will. I hope your JT is a diesel- when I start approaching 100K clicks on the odometer, I'm out before the sixth digit rolls over. This motor ain't the 2.5L or the 4.0L.....
My 4.0 is still humming along. The brittle wires are becoming an issue in that baby though. I demand that both of my gladiators treat me the same as my XJ. For the 90k I am in debt for the two I figure they will need to last me at least 30 more years of trouble-free daily driving.

The problem is on misguided perspective of jeep. Jeep is for off road not towing duty.

Yes you should have stayed in your taco or get full-size truck for towing!

Thank you for reaching out. I got another update from my dealer this morning with good news, they expect it will be finished tomorrow. if that is the case I'll be glad and just wish I had better communication or timing.

I took the forums advice and rolled with the punches. so i completely changed plans, rented out my RV for the 4th. Convinced the wife that tents are more environmentally friendly and the way of the future.

As long as she comes back to me without any issues (the truck not wife) before the 6th ill be able to keep the second half of the vacation, and buy a nice dinner with RV rental money so my wife stays with me without issues.

side note life is bogus sometimes, the guy renting my rv said "I cant belive an rv is available last minute" maybe 5 times so it worked out for him!

nope I got the gasser for reliability, i wanted the desiel torque so bad, and my dad has a desire Jeep that scared me away from them, that and the advice of a smart friend that desiels are also a load of problems no matter who makes them

That sucks.
I think I might have been inclined to drive it with the tick and keep the vacation. Let the guy who called it normal figure out what to do if it blows up on you.
I was thinking the same thing.
