I figure it's when those parts are shipped to the assembly line. I doubt someone carries each one so there's got to be some truck shagging the parts across the acres of ground from A to B. Years ago in Kenosha, parts like axles, engines and such were literally trucked, so in a sense they were shipped. I've got pics of major car parts on trucks heading to the assembly location. From my dealer. It’s actually called a “ship” date. But in reality, it has been presented as a blend date, where the body and frame are matched on the assembly line. So I call it a “build” date. Yours is 7/16. It’s a very confusing system.
Yes, definitely could be when the body ships to the assembly line. Two things are for sure, it's during assembly and it's NOT shipping to the dealer at that point.I figure it's when those parts are shipped to the assembly line. I got a call from the dealer today about 1:30 or thereabouts saying they'd just received my truck.Yes, definitely could be when the body ships to the assembly line. Two things are for sure, it's during assembly and it's NOT shipping to the dealer at that point.
We can further test that theory in 8 days for me, and 4 for @mseese34 !
Any theory you have about shipping or delivery, or any other update from the Jeep site will be wrong! I ordered roughly a week before ShadowsPapa. Both went to body vendor about the same time. I did not get anything from the body vendor that he didn't. Mine is showing it still at vendor. Definitely has not arrived at the dealer. It is truly madness!! I am a bit further away in TX, so maybe its on a train and Jeep just hasn't updated. Point is, there is no rhyme or reason to how and/or when they ship!!Yes, definitely could be when the body ships to the assembly line. From my limited experience on this, it seems to be somewhat accurate, but a bit fluid, until the truck is built. Then it’s a free-for-all regarding accessory installations and shipping vendors. Our builds are dates are similar. I also go the Sport S Max Tow package with the convenience group and a few other packages. They probably batched similar builds. I just got my email that mine is in production. I hope you get yours soon too!I ordered a Sport S Max Tow with the popular equipment package (hardtop/convenience group), black wheels, and that's it. According to my salesman, it's still in D1 status. He says it has an estimated shipping date of 7/16, which apparently, only he can see.
Why can't the Jeep tracking site just be accurate? How difficult can it be?
The tracking tool provided on this thread doesn't even show a build sheet or window sticker yet.

Hey Josh, my JTR arrived today. You’re next! You didn’t have to wait long at all! That’s awesome! It’s been 4 months for me. I think @Geoarch is in the same boat as me. Estimated delivery date is now 7/22. Order put in on 3/6. I’m in Arizona so that might have something to do with it. Who knows anymore.
Bill is right. Jeep says that mine would be delivered July 22, and it arrived today.ORDER STATUSDELIVERED
Your vehicle has been delivered to the dealership you selected. Please contact the dealership for further information.
Liar-liar, No it hasn't. Worthless site. Dealer says - nope, not here, no sign of it.
They should take that site down until they hire a real developer and data manager for it. My son might be interested, after-all, he was in charge of a lot of the Gannette technology, marketing and web technology and he's Amazon certified (whatever that means HAHA)
The delays are totally understandable. Delays in obtaining parts and supplies, trouble hiring qualified employees, trouble with trains, lack of truck drivers (and after what CA did, it's a poor time to be a truck driver) but to have a web site that even the dealer has better information, more current information - it's just begging the question - why did they bother?
I think the final word is - be prepared. There are cost issues, delivery issues, supply issues, staffing issues, and no one really knows. So, order, and work with your dealership on information. They'll know more than anyone else, including Jeep chat, this lame order tracking web site that says a vehicle has been delivered but not shipped, delivery date was before the real shipping date and so on.
Believe only your dealer if they are a good one - don't rely on any Jeep sources - just the dealer. Jeep does for the most part let ordering dealers know what's up.
The text alerting is broken, the build sheet and window sticker system here is broken, the status web site is beyond broken, it's stating the impossible, giving bad info which is actually worse than no information.
I'm a tech guy so this sort of stuff is beyond amazing.
Awesome!! My dealer told me yesterday that my Jeep was in NM on its way. I looked at the tracking website this morning & it says 8/9 for delivery now. I hope it’s here sooner, but who knows. I’m happy your wait is over now!Hey Josh, my JTR arrived today. You’re next!
