Was browsing for things and saw this:

2021 6x6 Gladiator Diesel

Might go take a look in person this week. And it's diesel!

That thing is wild looking!!! Saw one locally built for sale at the Mecum auction but only one axel drove in the rear. Second axel not attached to anything. Just for show. I also notice this in the listing, which I can’t believe is right:

  • MPG City / Hwy: 22 / 28

Those things are "neat" when somebody else owns it. Impractical any other time and a financial anchor dragging anybody down that owns one.
It's not really any less practical Thabo a full size dually with an 8' bed. Obviously it wouldn't have the same towing and hauling capabilities (likely closer than anyone would want to admit assuming the frame extension was built stout enough), but maneuverability would be about the same. The extra wheelbase, suspension, etc should make it ride better too. Not worth $90k but at half that I might actually be interested.

Why did they make it look like a Cyber Truck. I hate that bed cap.

That kind of makes the point it would be less practical because it could not tow or haul like the 8 foot dually full size.

It is a vanity vehicle and is why most on the secondary used market are low mileage.

I laughed when they called it a hellfire, and it’s still got a v6. I’d think it would have a hemi. I wouldn’t buy that for any money, let alone 90. Money pit with an angry grill. I’ll take mine in an apocalypse, over that thing all day.

Why would anyone want to add an extra? 400 or so lbs of another axle and driveshaft, plus 200lbs of wheels and tires? I would rather spend that kind of $$$ on a portal axle setup, with lockers fr and r! Then add some nice ce light weight 15” forged alloy wheels and 35” tires, nothing too big and heavy. That together would gain a true extra 4” ground clearance, plus about 1/4 the extra weight of a third live axle and tires.

Good luck finding 15" wheels that will clear the stock brakes let alone portals. Not to mention how goofy 4" of lift and 35s will look and the fact that the portals gear reduction puts you in the 5.13+ range even with stock gears which would suck on 35s at freeway speed.

I know technically these 1 offs don't get recertification so the numbers are whatever they were for the stock vehicle, but I'd bet it would tow and haul as good as any gas dually.

Impractical for the average person plus good luck getting it repaired at your local Jeep dealer or garage for that matter.
