Its actually water temp u want to rise a bit. That low viscosity oil is plenty fine, more so for fuel efficiency. When first starting, engine revs higher to get temp to operating temp. Once there it stabilizes. Main thing is dont cold start and start revving the puss out the motor. In time the...
Just saw this post, guess I didn't have this thread watched. Now you really have me interested in the trail dash 2. I know that with optioned cables/hardware, u can control up to 8 (i think) accessories/lights. This would save me on buying the jeep aux switches. Please continue to keep posted...
Still new to overlanding and rtt in general, but I have gotten some use of my rtt recently. Farthest I've gone was 3 hrs from home on a trip with some friends. Yes, there were amenities. But I plan on visiting the surrounding states (live in FL) and have a question:
If I need to rest up...
On road, solid.
Light to medium off road, mostly solid, no issue.
Aggressive off road, may budge a tad, but nothing serious.
Where my seals weren't perfectly straight, I can see that they have moved. Otherwise sturdy.
ignore rust in pics. Thats my own doing/ignorance.
Push button after 4lo, shift into M, and 1-5 are in 0.7-1 mph increments if I remember right. I used it on a 20° incline on my sport s max tow. Looked over at buddy and "check it out, no hands or feet!" His jaw dropped lol
I did have to steer a lil
Toyota still uses composite bed in Tacoma. Smarter, but still not quite as durable. Needless to say, they still have their followers. Still pretty tough.
As for the argument, I semi agree with OP. Especially since these days pickem ups are more so bought as status symbols. Real life example: i...
Tailgate strip aside, I've been able to mount traction boards with their tent mount. Tight, but doable. Easily accessed. Nothing a few 5/16x2 bolts, washers, nuts, and knobs from true value couldn't handle. Had to make some extra holes in the boards, but nothing crazy and still functional. Setup...
None. Just need to trim the winglet plastic below the bumper line in front of tires. When reversing, especially at an incline, it will rub, but nothing dangerous. If u have a rubicon, nothing to worry about.
35s may be better in ur situation. The squat may cause rubbing when towing. Look into Kenda Klever RT. There's a thread on here about them. Can do 35x10.50r17 with oe rim. Still inside the fenders and D load rating I think.
If u keep the oe wheels, u can do 12.5 wide tire and should only have the slightest poke via sidewall. Tread should still be under/inside fender. These are 37x12.50r17 on oe rim... pre lift
There is a tsb for the steering issue. Hopefully that becomes a non concern. By the time u by, it will be applied already from factory. The consensus for motor seems to be just reving it out here and there. Especially within the first 300-400 miles (break in). At 1000 I personally recommend oil...
Also, can't remember if mentioned but:
Recall is always covered by dealer/manufacturer. All the time.
TSB is free under warranty, but will cost u if not.
