Came from a tacoma background and glad to have made the switch.

useless information about how we decided on a gladiator and which one to go with.

initial impressions on the mojave edition and gladiator in general- when we decide to look into trading for a gladiator a things were important on our list. First was comfort on normal road driving and also gravel and fire roads. We knew jeeps had a reputation for riding rougher on road due to having a straight axle up front. Obviously for the slight sacrifice of on road performance the off road performance is definitely worth having the straight axle over IFS. However we are pretty real with ourselves and we know good and well that the jeep will see roads 90% of the time. And true trail or off roading the 10%. This could change in the future but we will see.
This led is to our next important thing. WARRANTY switching from toyota to jeep definitely caught some flak from our toyota friends. Not knowing how the jeep will preform reliability wise was quickly put at ease when we decided to purchase a model that would allow us to Handle rough fire roads , light trails , Sand at the beach , and obviously plenty of paved roads All while remaining stock or at least stock parts that if changed could void warranty.
We we were basically deciding between the well known Rubicon or the new kid on the block mojave.
After test driving both and a full day of going back and forth we decided the mojave would Suit our current needs the best. The test drive instantly felt like we were riding on a cloud over bumps and rail road tracks compared to the rubicon model. Even felt better then my 3rd gen tacoma ( on a old man emu setup ) Along with the comfort of the ride we determined that we more then likely Wouldn’t need anymore then the rear locker. And if we did find ourselves in a spot needing more then a rear locker it would probably be at a point where more lift and bigger tires And winch would help even more. Which would mean a regear For sure. Once out of warranty these upgrades might possibly find their way into the “need” category. And then the upgraded frame and other beefed up components of the mojave definitely wont hurt to have.
If you made it this far..first off i feel sorry for you, must be as bored as i am lol. Anyways lots of non suspension upgrades will definitely be happening soon! 5k miles review/comparison to the tacoma will be down the road. Will also be reviewing any products we add to the jeep and will do detailed installs with pictures for things that take any longer then 1 beer or 5 minutes. Cheersand hope you all are enjoying your gladiator as much as we are enjoying ours!

Just ordered my Mojave on Thursday. I too feel its the perfect package for me as I'm no rock crawler. The suspension /ride is incredibly compliant.

Got home from work and got the top plate basically done. Some minor grinding Left to do on it to match the angles perfectly. Started cutting out the center plate/winch plate and burned through my last metal blade so ill get back started on it in the morning after a run to harbor freight ( yes im that cheap ).

Made a lot of progress on the bumper today. Wife even asked when i was gunna mount a winch and made the comment “wouldnt it be easier to do now instead of later?” So made a quick trip to harbor freight and scored on the 12k apex. Used a 20% off coupon too. Spraying it with lineex tomorrow.

Rained all day. Decide to carpet the freedom panels so i had a place to put my patches. Still need to get velcro sewed on the back of a lot of them.

Is this mount for the battery disconnect connected to the two bolts that hold some bracket next to the airbox? Is it connected to anything on the firewall side or just open?

Trying to find a good way to mount mine.
