He just responded to me on facebook. He said he had a slow start to this year and only has 119,000 miles on the Jeep.

Let him know that he don't have to stay away since he's not put a lot of miles on it. He's got a lot of experience with a JT that many people wouldn't get in 15 years of being a owner. :like:

I passed on the information. I'm sure he appreciates the encouragement. He posted today that he's temporally coming off the road to work at home. Hopefully he'll be back as a pilot Jeep soon!

It is with sad regret that I have fully retired off the road . Between work getting harder to lock in and insurance rates climbing to $18,000 a year it was not a good ratio on income . Which means now I get to work a 7-4 job as a butcher during the week and weekend I get to explore and fly fish in the Montana mountains and rivers
I finished my job at 120,000 miles and will be modifiy my Jeep to be more of a weekend overland set up I am truly looking forward to the new adventure

What is your top gear usage during your escort on flat hywy?

Much thanks for treating all of us who started out w/ doubts about our JT.
On 80% of the highway I would be in 7-8 gear

I'm hoping that I can get at least 50-60k miles from my brakes. It's a mix of city and highway and plenty of off-roading with muddy conditions. It looks like it will be $100 for a set of pads and $100/rotor average when it comes time to replace them.
I just replaced brake pads at 118,000 miles and probably had about another 40,000 life left on them but all highway certainly let's them last longer

Very nice write up! I do have a question: can you clarify what you've done to protect the windshield from the temperature changes due to the defroster? I'm not sure how or what you did. Thanks!
I don't use the defrost
I would start jeep on regular vents and after it warmed up slowly would switch to defrost on low . That appears to help . Kind of a pain

Congratulations on the retirement, for all the reasons. Thanks for keeping us safe out there in your Jeep Truck.

Great info I have already saved there site to my home screen and will be adding that to it thank you
I was looking into a normal isolator but these look way better
Note LiFePO4 do not catch fire like Lion cells either. The only down side is they have to be above freezing to CHARGE.
