Should I buy extended warranty or is the 7 year/100,000 mile good enough?

In a nutshell, my '23 Gladiator Sport S was recently totaled, leaving me without a vehicle. My local dealer has a sweet, well-equipped 2020 Gladiator Sport S that I've put a deposit on. It is a Certified Pre-Owned local owner trade with clean Carfax, and has 49,410 miles on the odometer. My question is whether to purchase a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty from the dealer or if the original 7-year/100,000-mile warranty is sufficient? Any experience and advice you folks may have with such a situation is most appreciated.

We would probably need a little more to go off of like how much is the 2020? A lot of dealerships are offering pretty good deals on new models so it might not make sense to buy used when you can get new for the same price. As for the warranty you need to pay attention to the fine print and see what is actually being covered and then decide for yourself if it is worth it or not. It is already out of the bumper to bumper warranty so only the powertrain is covered. It seems to be up the individual dealerships on how that experience goes with warranty coverage.

For example right now new Mojave, Mojave X, Rubicon & Rubicon X are 20% Below MSRP and all other models are 15% below MSRP and that doesn't include any additional dealership discounts.

If they offer one that starts with the current mileage and purchase date, get a Mopar Max Care Warranty. The standard Mopar Extended Warranty starts with the original sale date of the truck and would not provide a decent coverage period. The Mopar Warranty is honored at any dealer. A third party warranty is a bigger gamble and may limit service locations. Read the documents carefully and verify the dates and coverage before signing.

As suggested, shop other dealers and look at prices on the new trucks before purchasing a used one.

Thank you MaximusTX. Unfortunately, Stillantis does these deals regionally, and we here in northern New England are hung out to dry. The Gladiator I'm looking at is listed for $28,600 and my CU offers amazing interest rates making this the best option for now.

Thank you, @Mr Bill , I've contacted the dealer and now waiting to hear back as to whether the warranty is the Mopar Max Care starting at current mileage. I would not have thought about the MMC warranty if not for your input.
