I use the Jeep wave for the free oil changes until they run out, but I don't let them near my wheels. If anybody's gonna scratch my wheels, it will be me. I have 2 dealers within equal driving distance from my house, and luckily they're both decent to deal with.

The joys of a flat rate shop.

Tech is invented to write up as much as possible and do as little as possible.

This is why when I'm paying I'll do everything I can to avoid any shop that pays and charges flat rate. A good mechanic can make a fortune that way. A bad mechanic can cause a whole lot of trouble.

I once knew a Saab technician who could "R&R" a transmission in like 2 hours. Book time was over 6. And he never got charge backs either. He was a machine.

Mine rotated my wheels last time and crammed one back on jamming the hub centric ring into the wheel and caused a god awful vibration that I could not identify. …. Never again. That says to me you didn’t center the wheel before running up lugs with air wrench. Probably didn’t torque them either.

I'm not going to use Jeep Wave services either, IMHO too much risk of them screwing something up and blaming me.

I did, went back inside and told them I marked them so I'd know how they rotated them for when I do it myself next time. They quickly got it back in and did and apologized. Sorry if a little perturbed, but this is the same dealer than refused to honor the Jeep Wave oil change at 5K miles because my oil life meter was still at 34%. I wanted it done at 5K so I did it myself...
I would haven't gone back based on that previous experience alone. There is nothing that says they can't change the oil if the oil indicator light isn't at a certain percentage... that's crazy. I got mine done at like 2500mi, and while they were resistant ("are you sure you want to do that? It's still got plenty of life" etc.) they still went ahead and did it. It's not like it matters to them if it's done at 100mi, 1000mi, or 10000mi.

Amazing. My dealer has only made one mistake and took care of it via another free oil change - they put in 6 instead of 5 quarts the first time. Otherwise, they've never failed to do as I ask. Tire rotations - for the first year they were taking the tires/wheels I had in the back of the truck and swapping those on and loading up the others in my truck and strapping them in. They did that 3 times. I have since bought new tires - but they did 5 tires for me last time.
I do mark the tires so that they don't get put right back on the same corner later but there's never been a doubt about their taking care of things.
When I added passive entry to my truck, had it all programmed in, everything worked, I asked if they'd contact Jeep and have that added to my VIN and said I understood I had to pay for that. Their response, no problem, we'll take care of it for you. They even flashed things to make sure the VIN change worked - the new flash put the passive entry right back. No charge. They fixed other stuff for me that wasn't warranty - no charge.
Are they perfect? No, very few live up to my perfectionist expectations of people. But for a dealership shop, they ain't bad.
Well, just screw you AND the good dealership within your reach.

The one less than 2 miles from me should be avoided at any cost.

First Wave service they did the 6 quarts instead of 5 quarts but rotated the tires fine. This was a dealer with an "Express Lane" no appointment needed and was not my regular dealership.

Went to my regular dealer for remaining 3 Jeep Wave service and they did fine on both oil changes and tire rotations. Only peeve was every time they rotated and check air pressure, each tire had a different style valve stem cap. Seems that every vehicle that comes in and on their tire rotation rack, they take off and throw valve stem caps in one box and is grab bag when they pull back out to put back on. Made the service advisor each time get and put on the correct ones.

Went in for my 1st Jeep wave service (2nd oil change, 1st was myself, 1st tire rotation) at 11K miles. I clearly asked for both oil change and rotation.
Before drop off, I wrote on my rims with a pencil #1-4 to verify afterward how they did it.
After signing the ticket that the oil change and rotation was complete and checking the tires, was very surprised the numbers hadn't changed.
I went back inside and alerted them to the issue. The service person said the technician thought he was "only supposed to do an oil change" and made a mistake. Even though it was clear on the ticket that both were completed and they were charging Jeep back for both services. Honest mistake?
If I hadn't marked the tires beforehand, I wouldn't have known. So LPT, mark your tires.
When I get home I'll be checking to see if the actual oil and filter was changed because right now trust level is zero with this dealer.
At this point I won't be using the remaining Jeep Wave services, not worth the risk on shady dealer practices.
This is the very thing that keeps me from using dealerships.
I did my first oil change myself at 2000 miles because regardless of what the manufacturer says, I know what high friction on newly milled parts can do, so it was done right, but I would like to use some of the Wave freebies.
On the rotation, I would like to have a five tire rotation where they cycle the spare into the mix. My plan is to number the tires, in advance, and I plan on telling the dealer what I want and that I have numbered them. I'd rather them know on the front end that I am watching.
I don't believe that the negligence is intended by the dealership but rather by some high school kid who is dreaming of scoring with one of the cheerleaders this weekend and whose mind is not on his work.

The main reason I change my oil, and rotate my tires myself is TIME, my time is worth a lot more than 5 qt. Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0W-20 oil and a Mobil 1 M1C-456A oil filter. I have the resources and ability in less than a hour when it is convenient for me to perform this minor maintenances. I have a local dealer less than 5 miles from me, no way could I take my JT in for this service to be performed and back home anywhere near an hour time frame even with an appointment. Also I get to choose the type of oil and filter to be used.
