I have 30k miles and my 36/36 runs out this month but nothing it covers I'mconcerned about. the powertrain 5/100k and the emissions 8/100k are the problems I need covered. In 2 years I'll address what I need to do.

So my JTRD turns 3 years old and just about hit 30,000 miles. It is officially out of warranty and it is time to mod this thing.

Need help with suggestions on a budget (I don't mind spending for the right part)

I am not going to off road this thing (I know.... I know) I just want it to look cool.

some of the items I am looking at:

small lift

37 inch or bigger tires

snorkel

new screen to replace the 2 inch one I ordered.

some custom decals/wrap (I live in South FL if anyone knows of a good company down here)

Thanks and feel free to suggest anything else I should do. Been thinking of putting new seat covers over the OEM cloth ones.
Don“t worry about it. These things are tough as hell. I“ve had my JL and JK all over the place and beaten the shit out of them for a combined 300,000 miles and nothing has broken. Have fun with it.

You can also bank $2500 and pretend you bought a lifetime warranty. Put it in a high interest FDI insured online savings account. That should cover most repairs you will ever have with it if you keep it to 200k miles, as long as you take care of it. Then, when you sell it, you have some money down on whatever you buy next.

Mine is also out of the 3 yrs warranty, another 1.5yr left on the powertrain, and have had no issues with this motor. Planning on keeping it for a while. My only concern are internal engine related issues (block) or body off type of repairs as i don't have the spaces at my place to performs the work. Also, OEM parts availability.

Depends on how inclined you are to doing repair work…

As far as a gauge cluster goes:

Yup. It's a big difference whether someone doing their own repairs vs paying. IMO, to keeps this diesel long term, one would requires to either diy, be willing to pays potentially high repair costs or both lol.

Also, how much one are willing to pays for smile per miles. I don't get to smile at most things nowadays, so for me it's worth it in keeping it 😁

I think a combination of both… I’ve pulled my share of motors, but I don’t think I want to anymore if I’m being honest.

I hear ya. I would much prefer seating down by my workbench putting together a motorcycle engine than R&R this diesel, but it will get done if it comes to it though.
