Long story short, IM monitors not ready for 3 sensors Im thinking are related to the regen process. Bought this out of state at a Jeep dealership ( in a state that doesnt do emissions testing lucky bastards). Anywhoooo. they did a recall on the O2 sensors and reprogrammed it which effectively reset the IM monitors. Truck has 10,300 miles on it. Everything except the sensors related to the O2 are now ready. It has not had a regen since that recall procedure. The truck is here in CA now and I cant register it until I get it smogged. Cant even get a temp permit ( for reasons that are too long to describe here) I need to do a forced regen now. I have the 12 -8 dongle and I have jSCAN. What bluetooth OBD reader will absolutely allow me to connect with the Jscan and do a manual regen. I have an iphone. Thanks in advance!! Peter

Here is the strange thing about my truck: according to my Scan 2, I go through regen every month. However, it never appears on the display in the dash.

I can tell it’s in regen during those times because the RPM increases, and I can feel the increased heat.

So I wonder if you are actually going through regen.

Check out O’Rileys Autos on YouTube. I wouldn’t recommend a forced regen based on his information. Do you have any codes stored in PCM?

With my limited experience with the MUCAR CDE900 pro diagnostic tool with FCA SGW full unlock, looking through everything this tool can let you do, it will force regen (I don’t have the diesel) also, I recently changed my oxygen sensors and did an ECM reboot/reset and my entire I/M also went red. Driving it, putting on kms over several days has turned 7 out of 8 items green. EGR won’t switch so I’m changing out that part.

You have to just drive it to clear the I/M but maybe in your situation you’re not allowed?? I reserve the right of being wrong, just speculating.

You can only use specific ODB readers with JSCAN. I use OBDLink MX+

OBDLink MX+

JSCAN Supported OBD Readers

I had mine go into limp mode for getting the DPF clogged and not doing a Regen and leaving stranded in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico on a road trip. I ended up just putting it in park and holding the RPMs around 3500 for 15min I think and it allowed me to clear most of it out to get out of limp mode and run the regen. Dealerships can also do the regen. The one I had to go to charged me $250. Now I always have the tools I need in the JT with me to do it.

Both active and passive regens do not display on the dash, it's by design. It'll only display a message to keeps driving if it's full and not regenerating. Mine have never received any messages. Active regen starts at 80% soot and stops at 8%. Depending on engine temp, regen at idle can stop if idling for too long. Your Scangauge 2 can display those though.

Get a scan gauge, nice and cheap and it'll show you all the information you need. JSCAN has a list of bluetooth adapters on their website that will work.

I have the app call "AlphaOBD", it will allow a manual (forced) regen either moving or stationary (I've done it just to make sure it will).
I paid $50 for the app license, but I do believe it only works with android, maybe you could just get an old android phone for this since your an apple guy.
And I second the guy who said to get a scanguage (I have the scanguage2). Worth the cost to keep an eye on your soot levels, distance since last regen, ect.

Yep. This. I have the Banks iDash on my 22JTSD and one of the fields you can have it display is the regen status. It'll show a regen even when the dash doesn't. It happens every now and then for me - if I drive on the highway, it'll keep the soot levels down without a regen, but if I spend a week or so driving mostly around town, it'll regen. I've only ever gotten one dash message telling me to keep driving. All the other times, nothing.
