I've had such great luck with the BatteryMinder brand (the 1500) that I bought 2 more and use them on everything now. My cars that sit for MONTHS over the winter, the Jeeps, the lawn tractor, you name it. They have interchangeable ends so you can leave an end attached to the battery and plug on another end that has clamps and use it on a different vehicle.
They have even revived batteries that I felt were almost lost causes due to sulfation.

I can plug one onto the lawn tractor over the winter, leave the eyelets attached to the battery, and plug the clamps onto it and use it on another battery.

I made an adapter that charges through the trailer connector - and I can simply unplug the end off the BatteryMinder and put the clamps back on it and use it elsewhere.
They have an electronic desulfate circuit so they do that while charging AND maintaining. Once charged, it goes into maintenance mode.

I'll take a look. I leave my mower and my tractor parked all winter with no usage. I do, however, keep the camper plugged in for emergency quick use (When the Mrs kicks me out of the house!)

Just to illustrate the hot air extraction gap between that tray and the hood, Here's a pic
I also have one showing the factory pass-through in the factory louver.

...And the battery issue is solved

I went with the recommended Optima Yellow Top

It was easy to purchase from AutoZone, where I can take it back if it gives me trouble.

Ahhh ok that's exactly what I was looking for. The first pics almost looked like a sealed unit, which made no sense. Thanks for the clarity!

Nosir, that blanket (Hood mat) is simply allowing the water to flow down its foil-backed side and out into the engine bay somewhere. :-0

Well, now, seems I have some things to deal with
I started it up to move out of the garage because of some drywall repair taking place in there, and I got a light show.
The anti-lock brake light is on
I get a message that the 4WD is temporarily unavailable (Good thing I'm not in a mud hole)
That stability control light is illuminated
There is a message telling me to service the stability control
Another message telling me to service the 4WD
and one telling me the Anti-lock brake needs servicing

OK, I have a theory. First, the rear brake lines were disconnected for some time while I swapped in longer rear brake lines, so air was introduced into the system and migrated upstream and came to rest in that convoluted electro-mechanical mass known as the anti-brake module.
Next, when the steering was all disconnected, the steering angle/relationship between steering wheel position and where the wheels are pointed was discombobulated (if that is a word). Somehow, there is a relationship (me thinks) between those components that causes the 4WD to suspend operations.
So what is the warrant officer going to do, you ask? I think it would be best to bleed the brakes once again, using a good pressure bleeder (Which I own). Then, do a steering alignment with Rusty's do-it-yourself tool, and assess the results. If it is fixed, then off to the Kentucky Adventure Trail. If not, then off to the Jeep dealership. (I may get lucky since I am still within my 36-month warranty).

Sorry, had to give that a laugh as it was a fun read - NOT because you have any problems. I don't know about that one word, but Mom used to use it and she was well-read and pretty smart - so you are in good company there.
Better to happen at home where you have complete control of the environment than elsewhere........

Currently doing a "string" front-end alignment.
Just experimenting really, or having fun doing something I used to think was normal! Anyway, I got it pretty close, but I plan to take it to a good alignment shop to fine-tune it and see just how close I was.
Working on 5.5 degrees Caster and currently a tad more than 1/4" toe-in. I think I'll leave it there to drive the few miles to the shop.

I am using Rusty's alignment tool along with that huge 1 5/8" wrench they sell for their oversize steering linkage.

Oh, and that battery monitor/charger is doing its job.

I want to shamelessly post a plug for TerraFlex. Aside from the fact that they build really great parts, many of which are currently on my JT, their customer support is exceptional. During the latest round of upgrades, I accidentally ripped the T/F ABS extension cable apart. I called them to purchase a new one, and they shipped me two of them at no cost! Wow, what a nice thing to do. I was/am more than willing to pay for them, but Teraflex refused to accept payment.
That's customer support and the earmark of a great business.
