Wireless carplay would be amazing!!

I heard it’s an absolute battery draining nightmare so you have to plug it in to charge so it defeats the purpose lol. But Uconnect 5 is supposed to be way faster than 4 and 4 can be laggy at times.

This is the correct answer. I had a wireless charger in my ZR2, and bought one of those wireless CarPlay dongles. It was really nice. If there's a suitable flat surface on which to install a wireless charging pad, I intend to do so (assuming Jeep hasn't already done it for me... please).

Meanwhile, I woke up this morning feeling like it was xmas... Then nothing. Google news for Gladiator shows no new stories for the last 9 hours (yesterday). Nothing. The usual sources are silent. Where is all the information????

Yep!! A bit pricey but another reason I opted for cloth. I’m going to pay them to wrap it and get my seats done in the colors I choose with installed seat heaters for about $1200 less than the leather/cold weather package cost + interest. Plus the obvious fact I will have the charger too.

I'm seriously contemplating the cool seat that's on AMZN.

I'll wait to trade mine in until they release the Mallcrawl trim with 4-5" lift and 37s" on 22" chrome wheels with 4.88s. And neon underbody lights.

Like probably everyone in this thread, I still don't have a truck in my driveway. There was a thread on the ZR2 forum where a guy hacked a charging pad into the console. I don't know where it would go in the JT, but if MY22 doesn't bring wireless charging, that will likely be an early project of mine.

It wasn't a criticism. Just another thing that's out there. The hacking required is minimal and invisible (kinda the point of it). Turns an already existing flat tray-like area into a charging pad by sticking a charge pad to the inside of it.

Just checked Jeep's website. They have a virtual autoshow site, and NY is absent. Makes sense since it was cancelled, but it also makes sense that they'd want a substitute.

Also, the JT half doors are now on the Gladiator home page. So that rumor panned out.

I put a Qi compatible charging pad in the bottom of the console, and, together with a CarLinkit, I have wireless CarPlay.
However, wireless charging generates a lot oh heat, and in the enclosed console, the phone overheats and starts acting weird.
I’m looking into various solutions.

yes I was slightly disappointed at the fact there is no wireless charging pad. I do like my phone fits in that little space between the cup holders though. Plus the rear arm rest is at an adult level and not below your hips. you should have to lean to rest you arm!!
