So I’m not sure what I’m missing, but I have a OBD module for JScan and a security bypass cable. See below:

When I plug the OBD module in to my JT OBD port it comes up on the JScan app and lets me know I need the security bypass to change settings. Fine, that was expected.

So then I go to plug in the security bypass cable and I cannot for the life of me find the 12 & 8 pin connectors that the bypass cable plugs in to. I searched all behind the steering wheel and even pulled off the plastic trim panels below the steering wheel. No sign of them. See pics below. I found the footwell lamp and then a lot of wires tucked away but that’s it.

I followed the wires from the JT OBD port you can see in the pics and it seems to be a single wire coming out from it that then goes up in to a wiring harness and in towards the dash or something.

My question is, does anybody know if the ‘locked down’ one 2026 JTs and removed the extra 12 & 8 pin cables that allows you to plug the security bypass cable in?

If so, can I get something like an in-line security bypass cable so I can use my OBD module and JScan?

Hmm, I’m just realizing maybe I didn’t look up high enough behind the steering wheel area.

I’ll check tomorrow when I can, it’s dark and raining at the moment. But if anybody can confirm where they are on the 2026 JT I’d appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Gateway modules can be tricky on newer models. Make sure your bypass pins are fully seated and aligned.

It’s up there. Just a pain to get to. For reference, scroll to the 7:25 mark of my video here. Looks like you have another module in the way but you’ll find it.

It's harder to get to the more options your truck has. They mount more electronics under there - so yours may be obscured by other junk below or in front of it.

Mine is a Sport so I found reaching the gateway to be pretty easy.

It’s a PITA to get to. That is why I bought the SGW extension cables from Z-Automotive. You HAVE to plug the Security Gateway back in when you are done or your radio display won’t work. The extension cables make it way easier.

Thank you, mine is the Sport too so I was expecting it to be easier to find as well. I’ll keep looking.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll look in to the extension cables as I have seen them mentioned in numerous places.

Thank you for the link too.

So I watched your video and they are super easy to find in your JT.

However, I have a plastic “wall” there above the OBD port and I have a feeling that the security module may be behind that.

See the 6.99 mark in my video for where the “wall” makes an appearance. (Apologies for poor video work.)

I’ll try and find the plugins again, but it’s becoming a lot of work.
