Hello everyone I’m about to take a trip down to OBX and plan on taking the gladiator on the beach for the first time. My wheel and tire set up is 22s on 37s. From what I’ve researched is to air down to 20psi or lower, any advice for the noob. Or did I go too big on wheel size??‍♂

20 psi sounds like a good start, what are you running normal psi?

They got a mall at the beach now????

Sorry, couldn't help it...not a fan of the 22's. But be careful with the short sidewall on a airdown.
It’s one of the reasons I’m asking, or I could just throw my stock wheels and tires back on as an option too. Just wanted to see if anyone had experience with this type of set up on sand before

I used to run this exact same setup and never had any issues at 35psi. IMO the most important thing to remember in the sand is to go light on the skinny pedal and just keep the thing moving. Airing down will help but may not be necessary depending on how deep the sand is.

That’s what a few people I’ve talked to had said that they didn’t even air down at all. But they didn’t run the same set up though.

Welcome aboard Erick. I also would not air down with 22" wheels. Especially with wide/deep wheels, on unstable sand there's always the chance you pinch your tire. And as you've probably already gathered, Jeep folk are not too keen on 22" wheels. But it's your ride and none of us are forking out your monthly payments.

^ Just kidding ?

I'd let some air out but would not go below 30 psi with the lower brofile tires ?. Do you have a way to air back up before hitting pavement? That would play into the calculus too. You probably wouldn't want to drive far on pavement with those aired down.

Looks badass tho!

You specifically stated your wheel size then tire size so i dont see why they even asked you to correct yourself. Then offered you no advice on top of it. Some people on here are just dweebs i guess.

Thanks, yes kinda knew if I posted about the 22s I would hear about it? as for airing down I’ll try it at home first and see what it looks like and maybe not 20psi maybe 25-30psi.

Yes I’m prepared with compressor, traction pads, and recovery gear??
