This is just low effort trolling. Getting people excited about the Hurricane engine. I'll make it far simpler than any of these trolling posts can. YES, the Hurricane 6 will fit in a Gladiator. NO, it is not coming in the '25 model year. Probably not coming even later.

It was shocking when Jeep put the EcoDiesel in the Wrangler and Gladiator. You would think Jeep would put the Hurricane in the same platform to increase sales. I'm guessing they can't produce enough Hurricane engines to supply all the various platforms, but jeep could at least limit the Hurricane to the higher trim levels (Rubicon and Mojave).

Offering different engine options costs money. A full set of crash tests has to be done for each available option. They also have to deal with the EPA regulations. Look at all the heat issues with the Ecodiesel. They are not going to stick another six cylinder engine with a turbo under that hood. Pentastar and EV are going to be the only variations until the next platform redesign. You might see a Hurricane variant under the hood, if the JT survives to see a 2029 model year.

I am not married to my JT. When I see something that better works for me I'll just write the check. Hurricane would be nice but probably won't ever see it. I wish I would have got the 3.0 V6 diesel.

That's true, but sometimes you've got to do something to bring excitement to the brand. The Hurricane engine would increase sales. As of right now, the Wrangler and Gladiator are looking pretty boring in the powertrain segment.

The EcoDiesel was the reason why we bought the Gladiator. The plan is to keep ours for the next 20 years!

Yes, but would sales increase enough to justify the cost of additional options? Apparently, Stellantis has determined that it won't. With the heat debacle of the Ecodiesel, the next likely engine option under that hood will be a generator to recharge the batteries on the EV model JT.

I believe so. There would be thousands of existing owners ready to trade for the Hurricane. Plus, it may help pull new owners to the brand or those who are not happy with the Bronco.

Jeep had no problem making a limited number of the Wrangler 392. Was that profitable?

Stellantis said the Hurricane engine would be a 'worldwide engine'. The sooner they introduce the engine in the Wrangler and Gladiator for North America, the sooner they can improve profits globally.

If I had to guess, the Hurricane has a limited engine production, which is why they haven't expanded it into other platforms. Remember, it was Stellantis who said the Pentastar would be replaced with the Hurricane.

Gonna be honest I’m perfectly happy with the 3.6 v6 I hope it stays for a very long time. Isn’t the gladiator only 1 of 2 midsize trucks that doesn’t come with a 4 cylinder turbo?

The 37s with the 4.88 gears really woke up my JT. I can live with the performance now.

The Pentastar (in its current form) is a very good engine. At one point, Stellantis said the Hurricane engine would replace the Pentastar, but I think Stellantis has changed their mind on many things. Keep in mind, the development for the Hurricane engine started under FCA back in 2017.

Last year, Stellantis said the future for the Pentastar would be electrification, but that doesn't tell us how long the current Pentastar will be in production.

I'm happy with my EcoDiesel, so I really don't have any skin in the game going forward. I like Jeep and hope they continue to put time and emphasis into the Gladiator. There's a lot of potential for the brand, but Jeep needs to revisit their priorities.
