I think id rather just add you to the block list, frankly. Ive had my fill.

My message to you and others remains the same as it consistently has been: you got the cash for hemi swaps and axle swaps, more power to you. I love seeing big builds like that, and you enjoy the hell out of it.

But i wont -not ever- let someone who is admittedly a total newbie looking for help be steered into 40’s without knowledge-afore-thought. If you GENUINELY need 40’s for your trails, then run your 40’s. If you just LIKE running 40’s, then run your 40’s. More power to you. But be candid with new people asking for advice as to what is really involved to truly wheel tires that big because Not everyone here has the budgets you people do. Not everyone can shrug off expense of a blown axle shaft or a blown diff. Not everyone realizes how easy it is to get DW from an improper build on 40’s. Or how fast youll wear out parts you thought would be warrantied.

So yeah. When a guy says “i needed 42’s and dana 60’s for camping” with zero additional context as to what trails he is driving, when the majority of us here know you dont need them for the vast majority of the globe, im going to toss up a flag on the play. And i know for a fact the OP has found that to be helpful, because he has told me as much.

Best of luck with your continued build.
I can definitely tell your opinion matters most on this forum.

Now that I have decided to go with the 37's and 3" lift. My Warn Jackhammer wheels are 8". Is this ok for 37x12.5x17 tires?

I cannot tell you what to do, best option is really to know what your application will be and buy the best suited for that. For me, I’m doing a 2” lift and 35’s. I hit trails regularly, however I do truck stuff regularly as well such as towing. I don’t want the added stress to my steering, joints ext by pushing bigger tires. That’s just this mans opinion.

A 37 can fit if its on the smaller side. The Clayton track bar is clearanced for full 37. It drops down a touch that may affect some instances of departure angle on large obstacles.
If I ever get to something like the Rubicon I would install the spare under a bed rack.

If you don't mind the back window... and or can install a digital rear mirror... this is an option that will still fit a roll up tonneau

Or for getting it out from under the body

Props for ingenuity and creating space, but how does it come out?

You take out the same spare tire cable system from under the body and attach it to the rack, so it drops down just like the stock location

Thats good thinking. Interesting.

No question that with the 4.5 and 40's you would be looking pretty capable.

Based on all I know this could be the start of something much more expensive shortly down the road. I would not be surprised that if you were to have some mechanical issues in the drivetrain that the lift and tires would probably void the warranty. If you are willing to take it that far, so be it, but you are essentially setting up a situation whereby you would be replacing all the tried and true engineering you just paid for with something unsuitable for the Gladiator (regardless of the fact that it's out there for sale). Suggest you may want to have a frank conversation with your Jeep service manager and/or find someone else in your locale who has done this to their Gladiator and get some first hand knowledge. Best of luck.

I guess one question to ask is how many people have actually had the issues everyone is cautioning about. There is definitely a lot of caution out there to go this setup and what to expect from potential issues. Which is great info. But is there anyone here that has or knows if many people having these actual problems. Sure it could still be early since it is still a new vehicle model overall. Little by little I see more people going this set up. I guess I'm looking for the some people to say "yeah I thought u would be good as a daily driver and no wheeling but bam I broke an axle." Key here is by not doing something stupid.

Well, I love ambitions, and Gladiators on 40's. I have my Max tow on 37's with a 4.5" lift. I would say this is the only way to go with 37's unless articulation isn't important. I can just about touch my fenders with my tires at max flex with this setup, but I use my JT for trails, camping and Overlanding. I had the 2" lift and there was not enough articulation for the 34" tires thus I went to the 4.5" and 37's with a better offset & wider wheel. I would say if you are going to get your JT dirty and go on any trails, I would highly recommend the 6" suspension lift for the 40's, which then opens up Pandora's box. For the 6" lift you are going to need new drive shafts, and better gearing. 37's are a stretch for the 4:10 gearing. If its not a max tow, I would consider better axles as the 37's are a stretch for the Dana 44's as well. If you just want to look cool in a clean truck and drive on dirt roads once in a while, enjoy the 40's on the setup you are envisioning. Get some pics posted, would love to see your JT.
