What a terribly negative consequence of the infantile minds in your admin.
Yeah, Trump called up Stellantis and said "don't you dare produce an electric truck!"
It had nothing to do with them determining it lacked the profit they want.

Looks as though it was mostly developed. Then axed… 😣

This is just sad. Sad for Jeep. Sad for the USA. A retreat from a totally unique mix of cutting edge tech and old school 4x4 charm.

What an awesome vehicle that would have been. I’d have signed up for one in a heart beat.

That Chinese BYD shark 6 went on sale here and instantly it’ up to the fifth highest selling 4x4 here.

I’d gladly do without 50% of the Shark 6 range for the solid axles and transfer case.

What a terribly negative consequence of the infantile minds in your admin.

Distressing to see it.
If people only knew the truth about the batteries the Chinese use. But maybe Americans don't care about junk batteries.

PHEV's exist to satisfy CAFE regulations. 90% of owners never even plug them in one time.
Are you SURE about that? Level 2 chargers are a hot topic in 4xe sites.
You should have read the reactions about charging when the battery fire recall was talked about. Seemed to me that 90 is reversed

ppl do care here. I’m not buying a Chinese Ev. I won’t support that whole industrial complex, for a variety of quite specific reasons.

hence why I was really hanging out for the dual fuel Ev/turbo petrol Gladdy.

I’m f@$kn devastated jeep have caved to the backward minds and cancelled it.
I’m mostly devastated for jeep. 4xe Jeeps are so unique. I don’t think most ppl realise it. It’s the blend. Old and new. So unique.
But also for sad for the reach health and impact of free world commerce.
Bad days these

Yet all domestic vehicle manufacturing in Australia stopped in 2017.
And your point what? Got something to say about? Say it.

that’s big can of worms pal. I don’t think u know much about it.

the two biggest manufactures here were US companies? guess when they left?
Want to keep digging on it?

I’d park it

I would have very seriously looked at one.
In fact, I put off doing anything in 2024 because I was hoping 2025 would finally see a 4xe JT.

So what is it, politics when it is done over here and economics when it is done over there?

Save the browbeat vernacular for someone else.

The 4XE Gladiator could not maintain charge while towing at capacity.

Again.

That simple.

Nothing else.

Even the 4xE Wrangler struggles with this while towing at capacity.
errr, that is entirely not the point. Just letting you know.

yep, your on the turbo four banger when towing.

your cruising around on the e motors going to the shops/ work.

that’s one of the concepts in it. You do the majority of the miles on the cheaper hopefully cleaner fuel source.

concept

copy copy. I can understand the waiting. I was doing same, in the vein hope it ever got here.

hopefully since the did 100% of the engineering, the 4xe model concept gets dusted off down the track.

hope springs eternal

According to our cluster display of energy use and output/input and so on, you are always using the electric to supplement the engine. There's always power going out from the HV battery to the electric drive motor. You aren't really ever 100% ICE only

easier to incorporate to average homes since you won't need a 50 amp specialty charger
This is def an issue. I had a 100a 1975 ArrowHart Murray panel. Upgraded my service to a 400a. lol. This pic is right after the new panel was put in. Since then added a 14.4kW solar array and 2 60a circuits for 2 48a L2 EVSEs. That 400a main disconnect is a beast.

All the power now.

"Backwards minds":
"How much is this going to cost?"... "$500M"
"How many will we sell?"..."50"
"Let's cancel it."

ok no more vernacular - agreement on that much. Point taken. Since u asked;

—> in simple terms, scale. As in none of. not enough ppl to support manufacturing hi tech cars here. Don’t blame anyone for getting out of it, no money in it.

like your oil patch. Alota work, limited returns and limited future existence. The mouse getting toyed w by the big kitties. Etc etc.

Hey look. Wouldn’t it have been good if I was able to rely on usa auto manufacturing scale, tech leadership and unique native product creativity to buy, imho, the coolest old school-new school truck ever never made?

i hate every Ev made. I loved the 4xe idea. And I don’t care if it would have been an imperfect mix of two worlds.

my gut engineering sense is that it would be a useful powertrain. A bit step forward from where we are if can do 70% of lifecycle miles on free clean energy from my roof

Why? I'm guessing you only need work trucks or Jeeps for fun. A commuter vehicle? LOL at gasoline. I can't even imagine going back to gas for around town travel.
