I thought I read the cruise control on the manual transmission will NOT disengage if a gear change is needed...Is this correct or is this correct with something like a Tazer? Am I losing my mind?

I have a 20 Sport S w/ manual. Do not have a tazer. If my cruise control is engaged and I change gears, the cruise with disengage. Then have to reset cruise.

Generally with a MT vehicle if the cruise is on and the vehicle doesn't have enough power to maintain speed in the gear you are in. (Like if you are going up a hill in top gear) it will go to wide open throttle and just lug it out.

When you step on the clutch the cc disengages.

Sure...This is exactly what all my previous vehicles have done. Im going to have to figure out where I read this, almost certain it was on this site.

I would think it would disengage once your clutch in. Otherwise you would down shift and while disengaged from the trans the rpm's would just shoot sky high, no? Maybe I'm over thinking it.

No, you arent overthinking but I would also think this is something that could easily disengage but could be completely wrong...

Hitting the clutch or brake disengages the cruise control. Do what you need to do, and then press the resume button.

Not on Volkswagens. I sure wish the Jeep was the same. Volkswagen does manual transmission cruise control right! It auto reengages when you shift. No one else seems to do that though

Vws don't. They automatically disengage and reengage every time you shift. It's a thing of beauty and I was spoiled. I forgot other manufacturers don't work that way. My 08 and my '19 VW did. The 73 and the 97 don't even have cruise control though

Pretty sure my JL would pick the speed control back up on its own.

That’s why I am shocked Jeep put cc on a manual wrangler/gladiator. The motor constantly bogs down on the highway.

I have the ACC feature on my 2022 6MT. I haven't even used the "regular" cruise control, but when using ACC I can change gears up/down and the ACC does not disengage. If I touch the brake, it does.

To be more specific, when I press the clutch or gas I get a "Driver Override" message in the cluster, but as soon as I release the clutch, the ACC picks back up.
