So adding a set of MORE skids and it leaves the factory transfer case skid in place and bolts to the welded on crossmember from that OEM skid plate. I’d rather ditch that but not thrilled with cutting and grinding off the skid brackets because it’s still just a thin cheap crossmember. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket option for that crossmember out there? I have not been able to find one, just the front cross member for the Transfer case but not that secondary one that is part of the factory skid.

99% sure Metalcloak has one. I just saw crossmembers on their website a few days ago but don’t remember if it was front or mid. It seemed like they might have had both? I remember seeing two different ones

Both Metal Cloak and Motobilt offer the crossmember that the trans mount uses. I chose the former as it is anti-rust coated and less expensive when MC offers free shipping and/or 10% off. I don't know of any offerings to replace the little crossmember with all the holes in it that is welded to the skid plate. I thought about fabricating one, but haven't yet.

Yeah, a wheeling buddy fabs stuff all the time, thought about going to him to see if he can make one for me. It’s not a strong crossmember and only has a few holes in it, should be pretty straight forward. Just kind of surprised nobody offers one. I almost like I could fab some bar stock with a grinder and a table mounted vice….
