Shadow, you ever need anything wiring related, you send me a message. If I don't have here in SE Michigan, I'll find one of my plants either in our technical center in Ohio or my production plants in MX.
T
Thanks! Will keep that in mind.

I've spent 3 hours trying to depin the orange wire. Depinning set. 50 videos. No luck. Insane. No pic or video has ever been posted about wtf you actually do with the depinning tools or small screwdriver. They just gloss over it...boom...click! Depinned. Probably going to finish the install except for the orange wire part and have the dealer do it. Can't 'practice' on my own truck.
Exactly! I couldn't find a good video either

@Fishee any tips on getting that orange wire out? 4 hours now. Not getting violent so as not to damage it. No amount of finesse or any of the 32 depinning tools I have do a thing. I can't understand the procedure.

I did manage to get the Aux harness and the power wire for the front cam CVPM through the nipple!

I dont think you want any tips from me. I ended up messing up my connector. Got the orange wire out and when I slid new one in it would bottom out and not "click" I could just slide it in and out. So I held it all the way in and snapped the red holder back on and it seemed to stay in place. But who knows cause my switches won't work. Didn't have time to mess with troubleshooting yesterday because I was trying to get ground fixed.

Good on you for taking the time and getting it right. I lost my shit and mangled the shit out of it. Had to put a new connector on the end when I was done.

I dont know if you saw my post earlier where I put the 8 wires in wrong holes on connector for switches cause I was holding it upside down. Like instead of red wire in hole 1 it was in hole 10. I wanted to jump off a bridge

Oh, crap! Then to have to remove them all and start over? Wow, time for a long break away from it.

I ran into the same thing made all my connections and NO power to the switches found out the orange wire that goes into the new connector has a slide lock and mine was locked and the wire would not lock into the connector, there is a plastic lock you need to push out and have it move about 1/8th of a inch out then the wire will click into place ...then re lock .

Btw...I see a lot of Jscan info....what do you need to set in AlfaOBD for these?

All I see is 'Aux switches CSM Present',, nothing else. People on the forum mention 3 other settings I cannot find anywhere.

I'mdigging....
Cust Set Menu 1 aux switches CSM present puts it in the radio settings menu......
Ifound under BCM, car configuration changes)
..........

ugh, don't have my tablet handy, sort of clutzy on my phone, sorry.
Interesting though that I found a low voltage setting for the aux switches that APPEAR to set the threshold where it tells you they are disabled due to low voltage and can set that voltage level. Not near my truck so also not as easy when not connected. This is why I use a tablet - I'm getting old!
