I've tried several now.

The Maximus mount:

It did ok, but got rusty fast and was a pain to service due to the amount of weight in that cradle.

Custom Aluminum Mounts

Wanted to try this out, didn't like it so I didn't make them pretty.

1 Gallon Tank under backseat:

This one fit really nicely, and I liked the setup a lot. Unfortunately 1 gallon just isn't enough :/

Quick Release 5 Gallon in Bed

This is what I'm trying right now. MUCH higher capacity and it comes out of the truck in about 5 minutes if I want the full bed.

I put my 1 gallon tank under the brake booster.

How did you mount the tank? The holes line up but it doesn’t sit flush to the firewall. The top for the tank is against the drum.
Did you put some kind of spacer between the bracket and firewall?

Was think about this spot right in front of the spare tire. Not sure if it would be in the way of any articulation. Any thoughts?

In the left front wheel well doesn’t work for an air tank spot if you have 37s. Turn left and the tire hits the tank.

of note: plastics rivets for the fender liner - $8.90 a piece from the dealership and the advance auto and o’rielys I stopped at do buy some didn’t know they exist.

Will do, thank you for the link. I was not going to pay dealer price. The fact that he said it with a straight face and though I would buy 20… wow.
Yes that is ridiculous what they want for factory clips and rivets. When I had my JKU I bought a bag of fender clips. That way when you pulled the fenders and broke clips your eyes wouldn't tear up worrying about the cost of them.

Still can't decide, air tank (at least 1 gal) or compressor, what are the plusses and minuses? When airing up now, my Viair is on and truck is running, seems to be enough but slow still.

Tank takes about 30 secs to fill up. There isn’t enough in the tank for the tires; still runs between tires.

It's still in my mind to make my tube steps into air tanks. They should hold enough to do the job and have the compressor as the backup source.

Where have you put the tank pressure gauge? I am putting a compressor in the passenger side wheel well behind the rear tire under the bed, and the tank is going behind the transmission on the crossmember. I will have the air filter and a air hose connection under the rear seat, passenger side. But I cant figure out a place for the gauge. Id like it visible from the drivers seat as I am also installing an air horn under the front bumper. Any suggestions for the gauge? Ill post some pics of my mounting when I get a hose made to go from the compressor to the tank

Thanks
Nick
