Glad I chose to sleep in my bed. The forecast was not correct. It's -38° out.

I did get some caps in for the duct quick connects to keep them nice and clean when out on the trail. Ready for a test under reasonable conditions 😂

Happy Superbowl Sunday. Last week Megan and I were out of town for work, but we're back!

When we got back the Noco genius charger we use to keep our lithium/solar setup charged on the blue Jeep failed and caused the low voltage disconnect to activate. I'm not one to give many chances for mission critical systems.

I'm looking for advice on how to improve my setup, which could include simply replacing the Noco or going to a whole new setup.

Here's what we have today:

100ah heated battleborn lifepo4
Redarc 25a BCDC
Redarc battery monitor (the app sucks)
Redarc low voltage disconnect
Blue Sea fuse block
Noco genius 2 shore charger

I want to be able to charge via solar, alternator, and shore seamlessly and reliably. I want visibility to state of charge, estimated remaining power, and graphical visuals of use and charge. I would like less physical devices to accommodate this. This makes me feel like that girl from Charlie and the chocolate factory who yells "I want it now!" 😂

Leading options that I've thought of:

Switch to Redarc Manager 30?
Keep everything I have but replace the Noco with something from Victron?

Feel free to share your thoughts!

The rear bumper is in for the white Jeep. It fits nicely. We just need to finish up the wiring for the rear parking sensors. It'll be so convenient to have them, especially since the backup camera gets FILTHY!

Happy to report that the Infotainment parksense setup works and getting the sensors setup in the RH4x4 bumper was straight forward. Yeehaw!

I decided to stick with my setup and replace the Noco with a Victron setup. I'm going to change the wiring order as part of this. Stay tuned as parts will take a bit to arrive.

Post winter oil change on the blue Jeep. Does calling it post winter make it true? 🤔

This past Sunday we grabbed the Blue Jeep and headed north for a few hours. We landed at Denali Brewing off of Talkeetna Spur.

It rained and was cloudy on the way back home. We cheered ourselves up by stopping at a second brewery in Big Lake called Susitna.

I know I'm a little late, but I have the Redarc Manager 30 in my trailer build, and I absolutely love it. Super simple to use, easy to set up, and is fairly compact. I chose it over other avenues, because I wanted everything in one unit to conserve space and simplify wiring, and it also safely charges and maintains my 200ah lifepo4 battery while not in use. Just my $.02.
I love reading about your build(s) and you definitely seem to be living a good life. Alaska is definitely on our bucket list of places to visit. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing and for the kind words. If I can't get this new charger setup to work, I'm biting the bullet and getting the manager 30. Come on up and stay a while!
