That dog is literally 3x the size of those sled dogs

I got him when he was 6 weeks old. His mother quit feeding him. I hand fed him for a while. Got him the beginning of winter. So him spent most of that time inside the house. Come spring he went outside during the day. Had him tied to a concrete block. Soon it was 2 concrete blocks. I quit at 6 concrete blocks. My dad was bitching that he was tearing up the backyard by dragging the blocks around. So we had him tied to the side porch with a chain. Every 6 months or so. We had to put a new chain on him. He would break the chain. I'm 6'2". That dog would stand on his hind legs, put his front paws on my shoulders and look me in the eyes. He taught my daughter how to walk. She would grab on to him. And he would slowly stand up and start to walk with my daughter hanging on.

Any updates or recent adventures?

I'm still around ? It's been ugly busy around here. I had to travel for work twice in March and then spent the first three weeks of April in Portland, also for work.

The wife and I are gearing up for a cruise soon. So I need to make some progress on our latest project, a 16x20 shed.

We're amateur builders, so it's taking a bit of time. ?

The Rubicon did a wonderful job towing around this trailer full of wood!!

We're going with good friends and our good daughter on a Disney cruise to the Western Caribbean. I fully intend on being miserable haha ?. It was 58 here today and it was perfect. My body isn't ready for anything more.

That will be nice not having to worry about any chores or cooking or anything for a week though. Maybe they have some type of adult entertainment. I did a cruise years ago with my dad on the inside passage. We stopped at I think 4 towns in AK. Looking back it was actually pretty relaxing to have a whole week of doing whatever.

I've done 13 cruises. Been to every island in the Caribbean. Some of them 3 times. You're going on a Disney cruise. Hope you like screaming kids.

I did a cruise years ago with my dad on the inside passage. We stopped at I think 4 towns in AK. Looking back it was actually pretty relaxing to have a whole week of doing whatever.

We did the Alaskan cruise 2 yrs ago. Really enjoyed that one. Wanting to do a 15 day Panama cruise.

We're home! Our 6th Disney Cruise was a success and fun was had by all.

Now back to the shed project and jeepin!

It was a Denali Adventure weekend! The weather was so good Friday and Saturday that we had full view of the Great One both days. Incredible.

Friday we made it into Healy after stopping to see Denali from a viewpoint. We boondocked just outside of town and had a great evening. Having a fridge on board is a game changer!

On Saturday we drove as far as you can into Denali National Park. We got so many great photos of wildlife and Denali (more to come) - we saw a grizzly!

Of course we found a beer

That evening we camped in a gravel pit to shelter from the wind. It worked out nicely although not very pretty.

This morning we got going and drove into Talkeetna to get spinach bread and some beer from Denali Brewing.

Where are we off to next weekend? Hmm..

Ptarmigan, wild beaver chewing on a stick, caribou, mountain goats, and a grizzly!

Not pictured, but enjoyed on the trip were moose and porcupine.

It's been a great weekend so far! We're out exploring Fairbanks. While this isn't the most scenic or adventurous area, we are enjoying what this "large Alaskan city" has to offer.

This is our first time trying out iKamper's self inflating mattress. While it was a bit of a pain in the ass the first night using it, it's been great since. Would recommend as long as you don't pay more than MSRP. They have been hard to get. Luckily we found one in stock in Alaska! The coveted 5082 model.
