Does anyone have an alternative to the bulletpoint mall crawler junk to hold a phone securely?

Bulletpoint holder are designed for people who don't put a protective case on thier phone and only drive on nicely maintained roads.... I have a pelican case on mine and don't stay on pavement (phone still falls on the freeway)

I had a bulletpoint tablet holder but tossed it in the trash, wouldn't hold the tablet with a case and I'm not taking the case off each time...

I found a tablet holder that the company was actually thinking about the use of thier product and they put longer angled arms..... works great

Now I need on for the phone.... hard to believe bulletpoint doesn't thin forward and the phone holder is so short and not angled at all to accommodate the protective case just about everyone uses...

Thanks

I’d look at ram mounts. I don’t have a phone holder, it have their track for other things like go pro and winch controller. I want a phone holder as well. I really like ram stuff. Top quality. I have the track and am considering this mount.

What issues are you having exactly? We run BulletPoint products on our emergency response vehicles and they do a great job both on and off road, including the tablet holder.

I also run BulletPoint and do quite a bit of wheeling, never really experienced any issues.

This looks like a nice mount. I may try this combined with a Ram track arm.

No issues with Bulletpoint either.. I did switch to their magnetic mount from the “2 prong” style…still zero issues.

I use offRoam air vent and have been happy with it. Adjustable angle, huge sides. It does lock the air vent from turning though.

I would buy the dash version one today. It wasn’t out when I was purchasing. after getting it snug it’s survived over two years now without falling off or anything.

Ram makes excellent quality products for the consumer, I actually really was a fan, however, even before COVID shortages... they seemed to always be low on supply. Working with emergency response vehicles quite often, I found myself looking for third parties that were compatible because they couldn't stand up to the wear and tear from from front line units and were backordered for months at a time. Albeit the average consumer would likely not put it to the same levels of abuse, the lack of support from them when spending tens of thousands of dollars was quite disheartening.

Nope, I just use the bullet point mall crawler junk to hold my phone (with case) securely on all my off road expeditions with great success. ?‍♂

I mixed RAM Toughtracks with a Quadlock 1inch motorcycle ball mount and Quadlock case.

You want security? I'm pretty sure I could roll my jeep and my phone would come out in better shape than I would.

Ram ball mounts are good from my experience, but I have a press for kydex and made the holder for my phone. A second mount is Amazon dash mount that has a screw to clamp the phone in place good for recording with the phone. My phone is in a fairly low profile case though.

this isn't a good picture but both are showing.

I agree with you about Bulletproof's tablet holder. I tried it for a few weeks but was never happy with it. It kind of worked on the highway but anything rougher than pavement a tablet wouldn't stay in it. Their phone holder though works great for me. I have an iphone pro max in an otterbox defender case and it has never come loose. I do have the mount turned horizontally and that probably keeps it more secure.

Dual magnetic is what I do since I have a battery case on my iPhone.
I also use my phone as my dash cam.
I placed this on my dashboard where bullet point goes. You can remove the mat and stick the metal plate base on the smooth plastic or stick a strong smooth tape on the mat and stick the metal plate on it for secure adhesion.
Another plate of corse goes on my phone's battery cover on the back side. When not in the Jeep, I use a magnetic wallet case that holds two cards and a license that gets attached to the phone.
