You can purchase a RV tank heater & have it under the batteries.
I believe the smallest self regulating is 12" x 18" - on @ 45 off @ 65 degrees. Falcon brand on Amazon.
So you put your pad under the battery? I am about to add one more 100ah battery so would need two pads

hey Jeremy, sorry this is getting a little mixed up.

I installed Battle Born internally heated batteries, 2 currently. In my Alu-cab.

I recommended the heat pad for the lithium batteries that are not internally heated.

Apologies for the confusion.

No worries! I have two Ampere Time 100ah. I started to ditch the first one and move to two Battle Born batteries after talking with them at Overland Expo East but then decided to just go with another of these

While its not in my Gladiator, I chose SunFun because they had the most compact and bang for the buck? They now have larger, heated, and versions with larger BMS.

I'm only concerned about heating to enable charging, so it isn't a huge deal for me.

Thx guys. I told my builder that i would be using my rig in the mountains of colorado in the winter. He suggested lithium blue 100 amp/hr bluetooth capable battery. This past week the temps dropped below 25 degrees and my redarc system shutdown due to the battry temp went below 32 degrees. This was news to me. If i had known this would be an issue i would have paid the extra $ for the heated battleborn. Im headed to Ohio via Virginia Tuesday so the $23 tank heating pad will suffice for now. The idea of a generator defeats my need to be quiet in the back country. I like to hear the wilderness when i camp. Thx for the inpit though. I love the discussions.

I dont understand why anyone would build a battery that will shut down all together below 32°. The danger is in charging it in that state. Doesn't make much sense having to waste your limited energy heating it to continue use?

I'd jump ship and choose another brand that knows how to program a battery BMS.

So your system shutdown completely? The Redarc system is supposed to shut off the ability to charge below 32° but it is supposed to still let the battery be used/discharged. If your system completely shut off I will have to message my guy at Redarc and ask him why it would have done that.

I think because the battery shut down the redarc AI could not fing a source of power. Once I brought the battery temp back up the redarc automatically came back up. Working as designed. If i go to a 200 amp/hr system i will go with battleborn heated batteries.

So if the primary con to the ACC + JT is stability after a lift perhaps we should assemble the essential component list you absolutely must also have (for future buyers like me) if you don't want the truck to drive like crap, especially for a DD.

Based on just reading threads I have consistently seen the following:
  • Driveline: Hellwig rear swaybar
  • Suspension: AEV 3″ High Capacity Coil Spring or Dobinsons 3" HD C29-247B/Extreme HD C29-249DB
  • Shocks: Adjustable shocks?
What else should be on the "must buy" list?

I am curios what the group does to keep their lithium battery above 32 degrees. Temps in texas dropped to 15 degrees and i learned that my setup isolates the battery below 32 degrees. My cfx 55im does not draw enough current to keep the battery warm.
I purchased the VERY expensive heating pad for my Battleborn and it failed the first winter. I just got around to reaching out to BB and received good support (they sent a new temp sensor) but I haven't installed yet. No winter camping for me this year, as the battery is out for the season.

Well, i am installing the dobson 3" hd reae springs tomorrow. I will let everyone know what happens.

Also, I have taked via message boarx with crazycooter and he sounds like he has a great setup for the JT with the clayton hd springs.

Teamblkdog, i just bought 2 heating pads with adjustable thermostats. One for my battery and one for my propane tank. I was out last week in 26 degree weather. Cold not get my dickson 9000 to light up. I got to Virginia the next day in 44 degree weather and sh fired right up. I got this rig which i was lead to believe was good for colorado type winters. Boy was i sadly mistaken and mislead. Hopefull i will now have it under control. Hopefully next weeks trip to Ohio will be successful. Looking forward to a positive update.
